There are only a handful of vehicles that really inspire and attract custom orders (look how many ordered these blind.) Wranglers have always been one of those vehicles -- about 99% of consumers looking for a new car just pick one off a lot. It's been posted here before and I know from family knowledge if you order a Corvette or Mustang, etc. (not just the Z06 or ZR1 or Shelby) GM and Ford will provide you with information every step of the process -- and even allow you opportunities to visit the factory to see it being constructed if you choose. It's expected with that type of investment and brand loyalty. These new JLs are not that far off in price from the sports car crowd and have the same fierce loyalty. Love the new design but also not really feeling the love from FCA, and I'm only in an "average" waiting pattern no where near as long as some up here. I know they're a company and by default can't love you back -- but they could at least fake it a little better.100% agreed on all. Don't forget to add:
Just have an overall bad taste. Its still sitting in Toledo, which means its AT LEAST 3 weeks until I see it at a minimum. Likely putting me at a full 3-Months from order to delivery with all these deliveries in the middle. Not to mention the guys who actually got orders in on 10/24 like @cctvtec who don't have their cars yet.
- FCA has sent out "Golden Tickets" to people who specifically let FCA know they were interested in buying a new JL. Yet, probably 95% of these Golden Tickets will never get used since they all expire well before the customers orders are delivered.
- The excitement of ordering a vehicle pre-December the no one has yet and knowing i'd have one of the first is gone. I drive past the dealership in Delray Beach (Schumacher Jeep) and they've got JL's rolling in everyday. This is the dealer who refused to take my order on 11/02.
- Order process. A week after placing my order (very early December) I decided I wanted to add the Steel Bumper Group. My dealer said "The order was already scheduled, we can't make changes anymore". Well It wasn't until probably 6-7 weeks AFTER that when my JL entered the line. Really? You can't add a $1295 option to my Jeep 7 weeks before you make it? Yes, I can put it on aftermarket, but what is the reasoning for this?
- Even while the production of my Jeep began, their damn tracking system is so antiquated, no one, including my dealer could even see up to date when I was in D1 or when it hit the line. All this investment into the future of the company and in 2018 you can provide customers with truthful information about their $50k investments?
