Hi everyone, I just received these from ORACLE and did an installation video. This is a nice option and under $400. I will be putting out subsequent videos on fog lights, tail lights, and fender lights to offer an option for fully upgrading to LED from halogen on the JL.

In the video, I show you how to connect the halos into the DRL’s so they are controllable from UConnect and work independently from the headlights themselves. It’s pretty easy and I they look great. Interested to know your thoughts and happy to field questions:

Hey I coincidentally just ordered the LED bulbs after seeing how terrible the stock halogens are at night and I’m wondering how the cut off is? I absolutely do not want to be blinding other drivers as that would be even worse than me have trouble seeing, I trust myself to slow down / make good decisions while driving more than other people on the road.

I’m also curious that you mentioned that the halos are not so easy to install on a sport, yet you don’t have the LED’s on your jeep. My understanding was that what causes the Jeep to be wired differently is the addition of the LED package and not the trim level, is this incorrect? Are you certain I don’t have that white/brown wire on my sport because the side markers on my Jeep look very similar to yours.

Great video, thanks for uploading and helping out with these questions. Would definitely be interested in going the halo route if they would work for me but also don’t want to start messing around with a brand new car for cosmetic reasons.

I have been looking at the Halo Rings myself but I have not pulled the trigger yet. You are correct that the Sport does not have DRL. The Halo Rings could be connected to parking lights so any time they come on the Halo Rings will come on. You connect them to a dedicated switch to operate them by themselves.

I guess what I’m confused about is the fact that it doesn’t actually look like he has DRL’s on his rubicon. At the end of the video when he turns the Jeep on thats pretty much what mine looks like when I turn it on and the light position is in auto. All the lights turn on just like that.
On a Sahara / rubi with the LED package the fenders and halos come on even if the rest of the lights are not on.

I mean I could be very wrong but that’s the way it seems to me.

I see what you are referring to. Seem like the halo did not come until he turned all lights on.

Thanks for checking it out and that is a coincidence. The reflectors are the same, so although the light is brighter, the pattern and throw is very similar. The halos are bright too, but that’s more diffuse.

As far as the wiring, if you have a Sport S and DRL’s you should have the same wiring, but I haven’t looked inside the fender of one. The base Sport models I am told have no DRL’s so they would be missing that bulb. You could tie into the headlights just as easily.

What is also interesting is there is of course a negative (black wire) but also a third wire connected to the DRL. I spliced into that to see what it did and it made the halos turn off when the headlights were on but work with parking lights. Odd for sure.

Happy to do the videos and knowledge share as much as possible. Mods like this are a little new to all of us. Like the first scratch, the first mod is the toughest. I just drilled a 10th and 11th hole in my hardtop and two into the body of the Jeep, and although it gets easier, the “don’t screw this up” thought enters my brain frequently.

I guess I should have read one post further down before responding to the one above! Good call on the parking lights. I wondered if the draw of the halos would throw some error code but it is so minimal there is no issue. The switch would be cool too-though about an aux switch but wanted to save those and avoid having to push a button frequently-first world problems I guess!

I’ll have to play with it again as I am not sure if I had it in auto or turned the lights on.

I do have a sport s, wasn’t aware they came with DRL but that makes a lot more sense to me now.

So essentially I should be good to go installing the halos same way as you did if I decide to go with them. Obviously would double check with Oracle first but thank you very much for making the video and making me aware that this is a possibility.

If you have a Sport with the AUX switches you could also wire the halos to this. I added fog lights that have halos and wired them to switch 4, and plan to do the same with these for the headlights.

You bet, and it’s my pleasure. If you need any help with Oracle let me know.

Great call on this!
Is the bezel for the halos noticeable or look awkward at all with all the lights off? Also are you able to post any pictures with the halos on and headlights off to show the brightness?

I really love these and they seem like a great alternative to the Mopar LED headlights which seem to be taking forever to come out. Now to decide between white and color shift hmmmm...

Here are comparison pics. The halos are super bright on their own, and have a slightly cooler hue. With the headlights on you can see the profile blends nicely to give a more neutral white. I can post an up close of the lights off here in a bit.
