I have a 2 door so inside the Jeep isn't really an option for me. I usually pond fish for LM bass, crappie and sunfish, usually only carry a couple of rods at a time. In the picture you can see I have larger game rods for some surf fishing I did. The rod holders are kind of a standard size and mount holes line up almost perfect with the end cap mounting holes. The draw back is they cover my fog lights, but I rarely use my fog lights. Also if I needed more poles they make the ones that are 3 holders that would probably mount the same way allowing for up to 6 rods. I had to bore out the mounting holes a little bit with the bolts that came from the bumper but this works pretty good for me.

Hi,
Saw it in a forum a while back, I attacked them to my new jl. I only carry two rods, for my wife and I. Plus I like that they stay in the jeep, safe and secure.

Yes, I used two heavy duty zip ties on each one, I bought 1 " foam that has adhesive on one side from home depot and stuck it to bottom to give it more cushion.

Can you share how this set-up was then attached to the spare tire structure please? Hard to tell by this photo but really like this holder set-up. TIA, Mare
This rod holder has worked out great. Attached two ways.
I used some paracord through the horizontal piece that loops over the tire. This is more for keeping it in place while securing the second attachment point.

The second attachment point is some long sections of 2 in Velcro straps (can buy in rolls at Lowe’s/Home Depot).
The straps go through the openings in wheel itself and around the horizontal PVC.
Not sure if that makes any sense. I’ll try to grab some pics this weekend.

I've been running that same setup in my JKU for years now and it works great. Closed loop in the front and twist lock ring in the back, standard rods fit great and I'll break down 11' surf rods in half and they work well too.

If I remember correctly I originally got mine at Bass Pro Shops but they are all over Amazon now.
