Anyone currently running the steersmarts tie rod and drag link combo have any experience/opinions about its performance on the trail? Looks like a a really well thought out design. I’m just curious how it holds up in technical stuff/rocks.

I initially decided to go with the synergy setup in early February because it seemed like it could take a hit or two while fixing the play in the worn out stock setup. However, continued delays in shipping have me second guessing my choice.

Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated.

I have yeti drag link, and synergy tie rod, because I got a great deal on them. Both are top shelf products, holding up great, I would recommend either one.

I have to agree with Roky, both companies offer equally great products.

I've got the SteerSmarts tie rod, drag link, front track bar, front sway links, and both stabilizer relocation brackets. I went with Synergy for all 8 control arms, rear track bar, and the chassis side track bar reinforcement brackets front and rear. The Jeep drives and handles better than it did fresh out of the factory and is now beefed up to better handle what I will aim it at.

Nice! What did you use on the axle side to relocate the steering stabilizer? I found the steer smarts clamp hardware for the tie rod side but haven’t seen anything for the axle side.

The SteerSmarts relocation bracket. Got it and the tie rod clamp from Northridge 4x4. If you happen to do what I did and have to assemble a through shaft stabilizer and tie rod clamp, you'll need a specific bolt that will clear the stabilizer rod. Here's screen shots from their site.

I have all Steersmarts: trackbar, draglink, and tierod. But I have the Synergy trackbar/sector shaft brace. After buying and installing a Synergy rear bar, I'd feel just as good about their products. The Steersmarts components are incredibly large and stiff.

I have all three Steersmarts (Drag link w/griffin, Track bar and Tie rod) and the Falcon adjustable stabilizer. You need to really nail the placement of the stabilizer with the bulk of the griffin but it is doable.

It drives much nicer on the roads and soaks up bumps without any issues. eliminates any bump steer that I used to see.

On the trail the adjustable stabilizer was nice to have. All around I really like the setup.

Agree with this!
Running SS drag (w/Griff) and SS tie rod. MC trackbar and Nexus 2.2.

Never had an issue on the trails. Everything is holding up well. I did have to rotate my Nexus towards the rear, to be mindful of flexing with the Griffin, but it does absorb small bumps well.

Just a post from my personal experience, not brand loyalty. I have all 3 synergy steering components and I feel they are rock solid. I have put it to the test off-road and when I get back on the highway to drive home it drives amazing. Steersmarts will give the same result. Only slight issue with steersmarts is getting all the pinch bolts to line up to clear everything when flexing(especially if you relocated the steering stabilizer above the tie-rod).

FWIW, I do have the stabilizer relocated above the tie-rod and I am using the steersmarts relocationbracket shown in a previous post.

Do you find that the attenuator takes any sharpness out of the steering? It looks like a great idea.

From what I can tell doing 75mph up I95 in Northern VA, yes. Compared to stock I no longer need to brace for impact after hitting a road Joyce or pothole. It tracks super smooth.

If you were a little closer i would say come out and drive it but Chambersburg is still a 3.5 hour drive from Pittsburgh.
Greatly appreciate the offer. The pinch bolts were another reason I initially picked the synergy. I liked how they out-boarded all of the moving parts and kept clean solid bar in the middle where you’d get a lot of deflection. But ultimately I doubt that provides any real strength benefit over the steer smarts.

I‘m running a basic fox 2.0 stabilizer so I’d think that I’ll find a way for everything to clear after messing with it a bit. Definitely excited to relocate that thing because it’s only a matter of time before a crank it with a rock or low tree stump.

Chambersburg?! My wife’s sister and her husband live there. They manage the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market off Lincoln Way E. I’ve never been out to visit but if we ever do I’ll send you a note.
