Here's an FYI. It might possibly help your service technician as well.

These roofs are new and probably not a lot of repairs have been made. Last month my roof, when driving at highway speeds would lift about 1/2" on the side above the passengers head. It was the first time the dealership had worked on one, and I'm not sure they were sure what to do. It took a while, but ultimately after many, many days they adjusted it and it appeared to be tight again.

However about a week later it was doing it again.

Background: I had recently taken it on a gravel / rough road (not really off roading) and developed a rattle whenever the road was not smooth. Never really thought much about it. But I couldn't find the cause of the rattle and I know others have had various rattles so I just considered it a "Jeep Thing"

So I take my Jeep back again and drop it off at the garage. Got it back today (2 days). The rattle is gone. I was told this time they removed the roof and found a cable was not attached. The screw (bolt?) holding the cable came out and fell down into the groove. They could not see that until they removed the roof. At least (to me) this seems like they might have actually fixed it this time since they did actually find an issue. I was hoping it was something simple. It just took a while longer to diagnose and fix than what I had hoped for.

So anyway, if you get a rattle and start losing the tight seal when your roof is closed this might be the problem.

Thanks for the info. Ours also developed a rattle after going down a dirt road. I'll keep this in mind.

Mine has a rattle on the passenger side as well, and really have had it since day 1. Never thought too much about it. But yesterday, after work, I found a shallow puddle of water in the passenger side footwell. Nothing a towel or 2 wouldn't soak up. We had some rain here in Austin yesterday, but nothing torrential. I've driven in torrential many times with my sky one touch and never had any problems. Good info from the OP if this issue continues.

This rattling issue drives me absolutely crazy!!! I purchased this vehicle in March and have taken in to 2 different dealerships.A total of 7 visits for this annoyance. Most recent( last 3) visits have been to the place of purchase. The rattle was first at the passenger side upper window area - and has shifted to mid and now toward rear and passenger. The dealership really thought they had it resolved. The rear no longer squeaks As Badly but it's like every single area of a bump or rough rode you can hear it still be there. Volume and conversation certainly doesn't allow you to ignore. It's frustrating that Jeep hasn't put a recall or bothered to do the research. It's pushing you towards the brink of filing a lemon lawsuit!!!!

Well, the fix got rid of the rattle but the roof still raises up at highway speeds. They are replacing the roof currently. It's been in the garage for a week and probably won't get done until after the Christmas week. If I wasn't retired and on a fixed (but generous) income this would have been gone. I've traded off vehicles for a lot more minor reasons over the years. Fortunately I have three cars. Not sure how you people cope if your new Jeep spends 2 months in the garage the first year of ownership

How long did it take dealer to replace One Touch after receiving the new one? I had issue with my passenger side lifting up while driving on highway and dealer said today that they were unable to repair it. A new roof is on order and would possibly arrive tomorrow. I don't believe that my dealer (or many for that matter) have much experience replacing the One Touch.

It took my dealer a couple of part time days to install. However when I drove it off it made a horrible noise from turbulence along the front and a noise where one of the support bars was going up and down on the top. Sounded like pebbles being thrown against metal. I took it back and it's been there about 10 days now. They now have to replace the console along the top
I got my Jeep back this afternoon, it turned out that the issue was the Integrated Steel Tension Cable in the cover. The cable had disconnected and could not be fixed. The entire slider was replaced.
I drove on the highway after leaving dealer today and wind/vibration noice has improved.
Hopefully you can get your roof issue resolved soon.

What was your proposed solution? A hard top and some cash? <<< That is what I figure I'd want if our SOTT becomes a problem. I'd much prefer it was a trouble free unit though.....

I recorded a video. Brand new rubicon with the sky one touch. First trip, 1300 miles in. 75mph, with cross winds. Roof lifts mainly on the passenger side but also on the driver side. Wondering if this is what you guys witnessed? At 65mph and below, no issues.

i assume this is what happened to yours? Top not tight enough ? I just noticed on mine. No rattling at all but I noticed the gap at highway speeds above 75mph. Like the cables pulling the roof down are just not tight enough.

Does everyones sky one touch look like this? It looks like that on the outer edges from the straps on the inside pushing it up.

Hey, Lusimo. If you believe there is an issue here or think you'll need repairs, we recommend a dealer visit. Should you need extra support while there, send us a private message.
