Hi everyone,

as the title says we’re having an issue with the clock spring. It was a warranty repair and the original one was confirmed to throw an error code and making a clicking noise when steering.

Upon picking up the car the same exact click was still present. It was isolated to be the clock spring as removal of the unit would do away with the sound.

Another clock spring was ordered and replaced under warranty. I got a call to collect the car and was advised they had been unable to solve the issue as the click was AGAIN there with the new clock spring.

Now I’m waiting for yet another clock spring and warranty repair but this can’t go on forever.
Is there anyone that has had such issues or has any advise on what to check because I’m starting to be really fed up with all the issues with the Jeep.

It’s a 2019 Jeep JLU Wrangler Sport (GCC spec which equals a Sport S in the US).
I’ve replaced the tie rod/trackbar/draglink with a steersmarts link, run wheel spacers from synergy with original Rubicon rims and tires. I’ve got a trackbar frame reinforcement from Steersmarts installed and have the latest steering box replaced already. Further we have a AEV steering damper, a 1” spacer lift on top of Rubicon take off suspension and fox 2.0 shocks all around.

edit: haven’t taken the car off road since the issue started. The noise is apparent when moving the steering wheel left and right by even a few mm/inches while standing still or driving at any speed.

Update 03/03: Git the car back from the dealer yesterday afternoon, no more clicking/ticking noise.

They replaced the steering column and clock spring as both were defect. Hope it helps someone in the future as it’s been several months of having this annoying ticking noise and several clock springs later.
