FCA finally posted the official User Guide and Owner’s manual online.

New for us is the Quick Reference Guide
https://www.mopar.com/moparsvc/tweddle/publications?id=9594
(same cover photo as User Guide, just a collection of highlight)

JL Owner’s Manual
https://www.mopar.com/moparsvc/tweddle/publications?id=9510

JL User Guide
https://www.mopar.com/moparsvc/tweddle/publications?id=9508

Both look similar to what we already saw previously.

Interesting though that the Owner’s manual has 8 less pages @ 600 pgs than the one we previously saw 608 pgs.

A little triming between the two, in Safety, Servicing/Maintenance, Technical, Multimedia, etc.

608 page JLForum Leak

I noticed on page 9 of the user guide, under removable top options; it lists Dual Tops for 4 door models only. Hopefully this is just an oversight, but the full manual also only lists Dual Top Four Door Models as well.

Edit: That should be page 9 of the quick reference guide.

Why do they keep changing the maximum recommended speed for shifting between 2H and 4H? It's 72 km/h = 45 mph now.

I'm surprised they don't recommend or show a 5 tire rotation pattern. C'mon people, just cutting and pasting the same blurbs from every other manual is lazy.

"2.0L Engine Intercooler without Motor Generator Unit (MGU) (Mopar Antifreeze/Engine Coolant 10 Year/150,000 Mile Formula or equivalent)"

Bizarre.

"3.6L Battery Coolant (Mopar Antifreeze/Engine Coolant 10 Year/150,000 Mile Formula or equivalent) 2.5 Quarts 2.4 Liters"

Planning for 2019 already?

There's no indicated maintenance for the ZF8. Just how well is that thing sealed? And does the fluid truly never need to be checked or changed?

"Oil Life Reset 1. Without pushing the brake pedal, push and release the ENGINE START/STOP button and place the ignition to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine). 2. Navigate to Oil Life submenu in Vehicle Info in the instrument cluster display. 3. Push and hold the OK button until the gauge resets to 100%."

My God, it really is the future!

Technically even the NAG1 was supposed to be sealed for life, but the definition of ‘life’ is essentially 200,000 KM / 120,000 Miles. They were sealed very well because even the slightest ingress of water was bad for the W5A580 it was based on.

I think the addition of the BSG on the PUG info was just to not have to re-write the manual in 7 months.

As for the oil reset, the number of times I’ve had to do that after a Dealership service is astounding (I could forgive Jiffy Lube etc), so making the process easier is nicer, but it should just have been an EVIC option long ago, glad they finally caught up.

Why even bother involving the start/stop button? Just put it in the submenu and when selected, have an "Are you sure?" pop-up appear, then select yes or no.

Have we seen a picture of a 2 door with a hard top?

I have a lifetime sealed transmission in my 2005 Tacoma. They replaced the fluid after 100k.

That always makes me chuckle when they say "lifetime sealed", then change it.

If it's anything like the ZF8 on my 2017 Ram that is going back to the dealer for the 4th time on Wednesday.......I wouldn't say very well.
