I went to the toy store and they wouldn't budge on price. I told them I new a toy store 1000 miles away that would sell it to me at 8% below invoice, and they said I should buy there! Please help, how can I force my local toy store to sell it to me at the price I think is fair? Also, I expect my toy store to them investigate (at no cost) every rattle, shimmy, and knock (real or imagined) after I play with it in the pool and then put it in the freezer overnight.

i have the old 1980's jeep from technic that they did. it's up in my son's room. it is waaaaay better even for back in the 1980's. lego has done some crazy good technic pieces over the years. a larger scale jeep would have been nice. i feel like i have to buy this one to put it next to my old one, but it is just so poorly done. we collect the creator expert building sets and other creator building or disney branded "adult" sets.

with all of the detail that LEGO puts into their kits, it is a shame that they did not do more homework to make it look more like a Jeep.

Substitute "effort" for homework, and I agree.

The Rubicon decal on the hood is a faithful reproduction of the original, but the rest of the model looks like a lazy effort to use spares from other Lego kits. And yellow? So much Nope.

My 8860-1, and the accessory electric motor kit (both received for Christmas in the year of their introduction), are carefully preserved in my basement. I've a long familiarity with the company's upmarket products. It's unfortunate that they really phoned this one in.

What a coincidence, just found my old LEGO Wrangler in a box in the attic a few days ago. Dusted it off and now it’s sitting in the office. Honestly don’t remember exactly how old it is, but it’s in the 25-30 year old range. Predates owning my first real Jeep, that’s for sure. Working rear suspension and rack and pinion steering on this model. Missing the CB antenna, but otherwise intact. Technic has come a long way.

I love this. Sadly, it’s painfully close to the average American consumer these days — the same people that make in necessary to put “not for internal consumption” on containers of toluene, gasoline, and rat poison.

Big fan of the color! I think it's not the best model, but I feel that way about my Technic GT3RS model, too. Regardless, I hope I'll see it under the Christmas tree for me this year!
