I’m very curious about this “2 inch factory lift” seeing as it doesn’t look any taller than a regular Rubicon. Probably a build bug but I still suspect it will not be two inches taller than a Rubicon.

Isn't a Rubicon already considered a 2" lift over the standard Wranglers? Maybe that's what they're talking about, I dunno.

So I expect my order to be, as predicted, in the mid 60's.

Interesting - the standard 392 beadlock capable wheel is only 7.5” (versus the current 8”Mopar beadlock capable wheel) 🧐.

This is honestly one of the biggest who cares ever.
Yep: those who can afford it have already jumped in line with the dealer and are waiting for their order. Good for them.

Price only matters when the material is perceived to have some sort of value. I don’t value the 392 and could care less what the price is or how much someone spent or will spend on theirs.

Right now when people want to complain about their vehicles, they’ll start a thread with, “JLURD, $66k, 5000 miles... jeep has windy soft top when in motion... blah blah blah blah... help”.

Now they’ll say “JLUR392, $84k, 1200 miles... Jeep makes noise when pedal is pressed.... blah blah blah blah... help”

$30,000 increase, just for the 392?? Sounds steep.
This is incorrect. Yes, if you compare a base Sport to the 392 it is a $25k jump but a JLURD with same options is also a >$20k jump.

The only valid complaint is the 392 is only available in JLUR heavily optioned up trim levels.

It is a glitch in the configurator. It will be 2 inches taller.

For example, Trail Recon. He has a Rubicon. Installed the Mopar lift. Gained a few inches, runs 37s now.

The 392 will be able to run 37’s from the factory like the Rubicon can run 35’s.

Before someone says “I can run 37s on my stock Rubicon”. I’m talking about while still allowing full articulation Offroad.

That’s way off base.
Here is my exact order of my 392 but with the diesel. Everything is on there except the all time 4 wheel drive which is not available on the diesel.

So for 10-12k more you get the 392 and all the 392 extras. 2 inch lift with Fox shocks, bead lock capable wheels, dual mode exhaust, functional hood, paddle shifters, sport bolstered seats, as well as all the bronze colored bits. With a factory warranty. Can’t get that in the aftermarket. So for those of us who wanted a V8 Wrangler.. it’s a great deal.

This is honestly one of the biggest who cares ever. Anyone that is buying this already has a blank check for $100k because they’re immediately going to do $20k worth of mods before it even leaves the dealership.

Where’s a turbo I6 or 5.7 V8 for ~$2k at so that Jeep can compete with Bronco? A budget 300-400 hp/tq engine option is desperately needed for the JL. (And no I don’t care about the 4Xe or diesel, the diesel is too expensive and not fast enough, the 4Xe too complex and untested).
Ha. Jeep now offers the Wrangler in 2.0T, 3.6, Diesel, 4XE, 392 Hemi, and a full electric version is in the works. But now, a turbo I-6 or 5.7 V-8 is “desperately needed” for the JL to “compete with Bronco.” I respectfully disagree. For more reasons than what’s under the hood.

This is correct. I've priced out a base Rubi with all of the options that come standard on the 392, including the 2 inch Mopar lift, and the difference is about 10 to 12 k depending on whether or not you add the extra price of the auto, and the installation of the lift to the price of the similarly equipped standard Rubicon.

One other factor - no discounts on the 392 yet.... I priced out a 392 at $78,000...I paid $53,000 for my similarly equipped 2020 Recon which had a sticker close to $58,000. That’s not a small difference. A v8 would be fun, but the v8’s sticker is $10,000 more than it should be. I guess high price is one way Jeep can avoid impacts to its mpg compliance efforts. If I want speed, the 2.7 turbo Bronco will get me there at the same price as a 2.0l loaded rubicon. The Bronco won’t rock crawl as well but it will beat the wrangler by most other measure. I am a wrangler fan but the value proposition is diminishing with factory price gouging. A day of reckoning is coming...soon.
