Regarding the size increase of the wheel lugs, Motortrend claims old wheels will still bolt up.
I believe it. Although I've never had the lugs off my JK (been letting the dealer do that), both my CJ and my TJ have a lot of wiggle room, certainly more than a millimeter.

I went to the auto show this morning

Here are some photos
It looks way better in person!
Really bummed the diesel won’t be out until 2019 after the 2018 auto show.
Talked to the mopar folks while there, they are going to put a major dent in the aftermarket parts industry.
In a nutshell the dealership will be able to install just about everything and keep it under warranty

I don't know. I kinda like it. Wouldn't pick it for me but it's growing on me.

I love the red dash just not with the yellow. I think it looks spot on with the firecracker red!

It looks better in person, the red dash matches all the other trim. The yellow has a orange ish tint in it.
I’m waiting for the punk orange.

I understand and like the red accents that go with a high-end Rubicon, but I can't decide if that dash is either too much red, or the wrong shade of red. Regardless, it just isn't right. :puke:

Lol
I liked the Saharah leather dash much better
The rubicon will either be red or gray per the jeep reps.

I did see two guys who looked around 6’ setting in the front seats, it looked like they had lots of head room.
I was busy talking to the mopar rep
The inside is completely different from the JK

Anyone notice the Sahara and Sport both do NOT have vented hoods, while the Rubicon has one similar to the MOPAR/AEV hood? Where is the other vented hood we have seen? Like in the New Zealand photos?
Seems to be based on Engine options for the Rubi, so one style AEV for 3.6L and the other style, flat mesh, for the 2.0L based on interior photos of those NZ Wranglers.

So appears two styles of hood vents for Rubicons and Special Editions only.

OK, so it appear perhaps our assumptions about Hood Vent choice between Mesh and Louvres based on engine type doesn’t fully play out.

While we saw the Mesh on the 2.0L Turbo in NZ, this recent pre-reveal video by TFL clearly shows Roman driving a Rubicon Turbo and it has the Louvres... soooo..... dunno how the tpye is determined after all I guess. :movember:

Weirdly also, looking at that video, it looks like the test vehicle they provided TFL had sound/heat insulation under the hood which appears to block the vent (you can see the indent of the vent on the underside and also a quarter size hole of light under the fabric where the vent is). Kinda odd, but likely to help with reviewer impressions of NVH of either the JL itself or the new engine.

He said there were skid plates, but I didn't see that many underneath there.

He said underbody protection in the section before the underbody shot.

There were a few plates there, but also some reinforced bars (much of which had scratches). Some protection is built into the part as well like the reinforced pans, etc.
