I’m a new Jeep owner (2018 JLU), and wondered if there are any "mild" off-road trails near Annapolis. She’s a Sahara, not a Rubicon, so 45° rock inclines are not in my playbook :) Scenic dirt roads and trails are more my speed—we did the Merkle Wildlife Trail in PG County, which was very tame, but nice.

Suggestions are appreciated!

Maryland doesn't have much. If you are looking for scenic trails, buy the Purple Lizard Maps for VA and PA and spend some time in the State Parks. Those maps have all of the roads mapped out. There is Green Ridge State Forest in Western MD that has some great camping and good vistas. I've driven out there just to go sight seeing and the roads are what you are looking for but it's a 2 hour drive.

I did the Frederick Watershed Trail, which was nice, but there isn't a whole lot I've been able to find. It's nice that Waze has the trail marked.
