DAY 1 - 1.5 Summary for fixing ORP through dealership w/ UConnect and JEEP Corporate

- Dropped car at dealership Tuesday
- Got a follow up of info from dealer and my UConnect case manager
- Testing completed per Jeep engineers request....radio is not receiving connection from UConnect server...confirmed the ORP/software update was pushed over the air specifically to my vehicle but vehicle did not receive.
- dealer told to open a "Star Case" to continue to answering questions from engineer (There was some confusion about whether this was done or not...it seems opening this case is the start of the dealer being able to work directly with corporate/engineer for a fix)
- If this software update isn't received it won't load Off Road Pages

Overall: Playing a little bit of middleman between dealer and UConnect but that's probably just me being overly involved. I'd rather have the cellular connection to the vehicle fixed then just load and update and go through this the next time a software update is pushed out to customers. UConnect said this is a issue specific to me and not widespread since I have been pushed the update but did not receive...but that sounds very similar to others complaints about what is going on with their vehicle (multiple software requests, owned since early 2018, live in good LTE/4G coverage area, and have reset their personal settings on vehicle multiple times).

Hope this helps someone out. I'll follow up again in a day.

Update:

Star Case still open. I’ve called Uconnect and they have updated me that they are taking action. Still nothing fixes though. I’ve found a few others on this forum that have the exact same issues I have but Jeep still says this is not a know issue (find that difficult to believe). I hope to get this documented and then post my star case # so others can reference and get the fix.

I'm still in a holding pattern. Was originally told I may need to go into a dealer to get this looked at. Then told that they were working on a way to get this update pushed via OTA and would be told when it's available. Nothing since.

Yesterday I was told by the u connect people that sometimes after the holidays they would have an updated version that I could get online to solve all the problems with the Uconnect app not working and the absence of the off-road pages! I will not hold my breath, LOL.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping to hear the same thing once they get back to me.

Another stop at dealer. They are putting a new radio on order. Dealer said they've had to do this for a few Jeeps. Leads me to believe this is a larger problem.

FYI:

As of today, January 4, 2019, TSB 08-001-19 has been released for dealers to perform the manual update using a flash drive. Dealers have access to this TSB through their online technical resources. At this time, if you call the dealer and request for TSB 08-001-19 to be applied to your vehicle, they can perform the repair once you bring it in.

Thanks for posting that is great info.

I have an appointment with dealer on Monday for a new radio install that just shipped from the factory. I’ll probably hold off on having the TSB applied to ensure the radio functions.

Yes, b1er, thank you for sharing this information with the community as stated in my message to you.

We can confirm that TSB 08-001-19 has been released as of Jan. 4, 2019 to address the following symptoms of 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLs:
• Radio may reset, turn off and then back on.
• Audio distortion heard during phone calls and Apple CarPlay
• Rear View Camera (RVC) display screen turns blue or green.
• Off Road App is missing.

If you have any of the above concerns, please discuss this TSB with your dealer. If you have any further questions, as always, feel free to message us.
