IMO the seats in the JL, at least in the MY18-23 are terrible. Especially for long distance trips.

Has anyone looked into swapping in seats from a WK2 or WL Grand Cherokee? If not I'll give it a go, just sourcing some seats currently. Just curious if anyone has attempted it.

I know there are aftermarket options. I personally don't like the look of the seats on the market and would prefer an OEM option.

The seats in my (wife’s) WK2 are very comfortable and would swap if they would mount and I could get away with it. 🧏‍♀ .
But how to wire them, especially with the memory buttons on the door ? Perhaps you could just swap the seat and back pads ?
My complaint isn’t the adjustment, they are as hard as a park bench, and haven’t broken in and softened as hoped in nearly 4 years.

My 2019 leather Rubicon seats are great once adjustments have been done. Only thing I find displeasing is that they are leather. Did 1500 mile road trip without discomfort. Plan on cross country trip in Aug.

My seat is as uncomfortable as a stock Harley seat.
Having Katskin leather installed didn't remedy the problem. I'll be looking into some type of seat pad for longer drives.

I have the same seats. I can't bear them. I've done multiple 5-16hour drives and everytime I find myself taking a break every two hours for my lower back. When I had my GC this was a non issue. Even driving long distance in my Tacoma is a non issue.

I do know they changed the seats on the 24MY and they seem to provide more support.

Wiring shouldn't be terrible. If I got my hands on the harness to inspect I think I could make it work.

My issue with the seats is the fixed headrest (I know, "head restraint") angle. It's far too extreme for me and makes my neck ache on long road trips. They were probably designed by corporate lawyers and not by anyone experienced with comfort/ergonomics. I wish the angle was adjustable from the factory. For those that care, the angle is adjustable... with a steel pipe.

Well it could be differences in body weight and proportions. I am 6'2" at 195 lbs. No prior back issues.

Some people are use to leaning back or slouching while driving. I seat up right and have adjusted lumbar and height.

Sure they are not sporty seats, but for me they do well enough for comfort. Just prefer cloth over leather.

Thar sounds like 8th gen Accord gripes with head rests. Their fix was to grab a 7th gen seat head rest and swap out. Some just remove the thing. They are not head rests as we all are use to. They must be at a height where the back of the crown will touch the head rest. It is a soft cushion to stop whiplash not rest your head.

IIRC, @wibornz tooks his seats to an upholster to add memory foam, or gel or something to that effect… and he swear by the results (plus, he drives his Jeep more and harder than most of us here, so I’d consider you looking into this option)

personally, I’ve never had an issue with the seats. Longest drive has been 8hrs or so only, so it’s not really that much though.

I’m considering doing the same thing @wibornz did. I’ve got almost 137k miles in these seats and they haven’t broken in at all & are still as firm as the day I thought the jeep. Long road trips I find the seat extremely uncomfortable. For me it’s mainly the sharp angle on the bottom of the seat on the sides. It hits on my hamstring and causes issues. Haven’t found any other seats to install unless I go PRP.

The desert does it seat slammers made a huge difference. I went with the most drop they offered and didn’t install the front lifting blocks, I tried them and it was extremely uncomfortable, removed next morning. With them removed the seat is angled comfortably and I’m able to sit upright without hitting the soundbar. I’m happy with my seat now.

Wrap the cushion in a towel and place the headrest on the ground under the Jeep's frame. Put a small board on top of the cushion and use the floor jack (between the board and frame) to hold the cushion firmly in place. Slip a pipe over the posts to get the leverage necessary to bend the posts to the desired angle.

My cushions were "dimpled" but the dimpling was temporary.
