I own 2016 Jeep and from the factory the build sheet said my vehicle came with cloth seats. However I can say that when we bought the vehicle used it has leather in the front and backseat. I recently, had to take the driver seat out and repair something and noticed that the wiring harness has cords beyond the typical seat belt sensor. So I pulled back some of the upholstery and sure enough the seat has heater elements in it... so I bought a new gem control unit off the internet and removed the dashboard so I could install the control unit. My thought was plug n play it should provide the power signal to the seats to heat up but has not.
My question is do you think I need to flash the brain so the jeep is told to pass energy to the seats or is it as simple to ohm the system to see if energy is passed to the seats so that it will heat up?
