OE Steel Bumper Hoops

Post what hoops you have on your factory steel bumper, and how you like it.

I’m looking for something that matches in texture and looks oem. Thinking mid length to protect against deer as well.

I went with the Maximus-3 SLP bull bar and the optional frame reinforcement brackets. Unlike most, if not all others that use 2" tubing, they use 2.5". I personally think it's more proportionate to the overall look of the JL.

They have a taller one called the Classic Hoop, which is the mid height that you may want to check out. It's the same diameter and the same lightly textured black that is a near perfect match to the factory steel bumper.

I agree Mike, I like stinger hoops but even with Maximus they are pretty wimpy looking in the 2". I can't believe how much more "beefy" the 2.5 inch looks. So I'm going to go that route also.

i have the Warn Medium Bar.. it matches the factory bumper really well, in terms of protection against deer a doubt it would provide any protection it is held in place by 3 factory bolts on each side which are held on by only c-clips

Quality is great, it's been on the jeep for a bit over 2 years and i see no chipping or coating issues on it.

I wish a company would make a selection of 2.5" or 3" diameter bars, hoops and stinger bars for the OE steel bumper. The 1.75" and 2" just don't do it for me.

What is the finish like on those bars? I was close to purchasing yesterday, but a number of the pics I found showed the finish as significantly lighter than the steel bumpers.

Anybody running the JCR Offroad stuff? Had their bumper on my old XJ and loved it.

The finish is 98% the same as OE, I've seen it in person. I haven't seen JCR yet

That main bar looks smaller than than the one your running now? Is yours a 2.5 also?

My SLP bull bar is 2.5" and so it the main Hoop in the Stinger. It's just looks smaller in comparison because of the overall size of the Hoop.

I agree. I don't like the higher stinger profile and the shape of the arch doesn't suit my eye much. They have a much shorter option that would be more what I am looking for. This, the mid-Warn (which all of a sudden I can't find) or the Maximus 3?
