When I was about to order my Ocean Blue I thought the black top with black fenders looked the best, but I wanted a Sahara so had to go with the painted fenders. Fast forward to today and I love the painted fenders with the black (soft) top. No regrets.
How is the paint holding up on your fenders? Do you have a lot of chips in the paint?

Great looking Jeep. What size lift did you do and tell me about your wheels and tires?
metal cloak 3.5" lift with falcon 3.3 shocks.
Tires are milestone patagonia 37" . CANNOT BEAT them for the price. Quiet and grippy.
rims are rugged ridge. Not sure of specific type off top of my head.

I like Jeeps with black hard tops, the body colored tops look odd to me. But I like the painted fenders more, which can chip and get beat up, more than the black fenders, because the black fenders can look worse with the sun fade. Eventually I may replace my painted fenders anyway, so maybe some would consider that money "wasted".

I’ve got an Ocean Blue JLUR. Painted top and fenders all the way. The black is going to fade and turn gray. God forbid you’re one of the people that tries to wax them, that looks horrendous as it gets older. Black plastic parts look unfinished to me. Minority opinion I suppose.

Black top, painted fenders. The tops don’t fade like the fenders too, and it needs some contrast.

Looks very nice. Tell me about your tires and wheels. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but are those 35" tires and still stock suspension? Looks like you have changed out at least the front bumper as well. Give us some more pictures... front and back, please.

I know there are tons of threads here with opinions of black vs. painted tops and fenders, but I think the choice is very different for different paint colors.

I'm ordering Ocean Blue JLUR, and would like to hear opinions specific to that color on which you think is better... if you're an owner, why'd you pick what you did, and if doing it again would you change?

Thanks!
I prefer painted top and fenders. I have black top with painted fenders. But that was the only option at the dealer when I was looking for one. Now I want a painted hard top. I’ll be willing to trade. I’m in SoCal. Lol.

I have a painted top and black fenders. I was hesitant when I found one in transit but I am a fan. Most people change out fenders anyways at some point in a Jeeps life so wasn't a deal breaker for me.
