I checked the site. No mention of any 7 day “Policy” anywhere.

I wanna do business with NR myself.
Seems fishy. That’s all. 🤷‍♂️
Where does their policy say they price match themselves? NR responded and said they don't. Seems OP got upset when they told him no (as they had the right to do) and OP came here to blast them. You can keep defending your fellow San Diego friend but no one here is gonna stop buying from NR based on OP not getting his way when he was not wronged by NR.

I just looked and they say they reserve the right to not price match any offer...

I wasn't upset at "no"...it was the lack of explanation and lack of reasonableness.

You are correct in the fact that they have the right to "tell me no" and they did. My point is that in every customer service interaction you have choices. These choices have risks. Business is risk. In this case they made a choice and took a risk, and they lost a customer. You may continue buying what you were always going to, so net zero. But I am pretty sure I am not the only customer they have lost due to this choice of theirs, net loss. I will be sure to make my position known around every forum and every campfire.

All you fanboys can disagree, but the truth is this isn't the only negative post regarding @Northridge4x4 and it will not be the last. If they truly want to have "the best customer service in the industry" perhaps they should listen to their customers.

To clear the air here one a few points.
In our opinion a price match is done prior to somebody ordering. You call up and say so and so has it for this price will you match that. Then we have the choice to say yes or no.

after the purchase is a price guarantee which we do not have. But internally we tell the customer service folks if it’s within 7 days you can help them out. Total grey area and it’s something we don’t advertise at all.

has Anybody followed what Tesla did this past year? They lowered the price of some models 20% we are talking $15,000 difference. Tesla wouldn’t do anything for people even bought a day earlier….

also I don’t think good customer service is always saying yes. We promptly got back to you with an answer and actually answered the phone which is hard to come by these days.

I don't pretend to know their policies here. This situation isn't written in the extensive library NR has to define these things. They decided that's what it was when they talked to the OP as described in the original post.

You're right about being able to refuse anything they want - fine. Which they did. Cool, but not really. I wrote on here that I've had several experiences where the legalese (or lack there of) takes a back seat to helping a customer out in an effort to beget more business and make a customer happy has been forefront. I've been made whole when sale has popped up a week after it dropped after a big purchase... and I've appreciated the heck out of it. It was a smart move by that particular business.

I'll defend anyone in this situation because my experience has fortunately been that I've been taken care of. Maybe that's the difference? Frankly... it's also ok to ask. It's ok to put a business on notify. Maybe they can reflect an think twice about the next guy.

At the end of the day... any customer can go to the next business. Any business can toss a potential customer to the side. That's the beauty of thing we have going on here.

@Northridge4x4 First of all you are NOT Tesla and do not demand the type of market dominance that they do. Don't kid yourself.

7 days without "reasonableness" is a bad policy, and it cost you. Also bad policy to have an ambiguous rule that you don't state on your website.

I have stated many times that the "no" wasn't the issue. I DGAF about the $, I care that you did not explain WHY and you did not attempt to find ANY middle ground.

CS doesn't get any love, which is tough. That might be a product of the times.

At the same time though, it's a huge shame that the bar is so low that it is suggested that a customer service department picking up the phone should be appreciated.

You guys did it... so bravo, I guess.

Policy is policy. If NR says they will refund the difference in 7 days, then it's a 7 day limit. What is so difficult to understand? Who gives a shit what someone says they are "going" to spend through a company, just to try and create leverage. But, it sounds like this may have been the first order and whining commenced. I have spent plenty of money with NR and they have been nothing but amazing. I'll keep throwing money their way if I ever need anything else. I have spend more than $35k with a business and I never got special treatment. Policies are there for a reason. Accept it or spend your money elsewhere.
