Northern FL Recommendations

Heading to Jacksonville, Tampa and Port Charlotte for the next few days. Bringing the dog too. Looking for any recommendations for places to visit while in those areas that are jeep and dog friendly!

When you are in Jax go to Amelia state park and drive on the beach around Nassau sound. The dog is allowed out once you drive past the state park boundary heading north on the beach. Sand is really soft but I didn’t have to air down and did just fine. Entry fee is just a few dollars. You can also check out the city beach park called Hugenot.

Just curious, I don’t know where this is all available but sharing some information. In virginia we can use REI receipts as entry into state parks. I know it’s only a few dollars to get into most parks but on the way home sometimes I stop off at REI to browse around and end up with a cheap snack item for those cheap entries into the state parks

Driving across Florida is disgusting. It sounds like rain with the number of bugs hitting the jeep. I hope this is a seasonal thing. I have enough bug parts to build a small army...

You are going to want to get those bugs off your paint and windshield as some of them eat the paint off and dry to concrete on your windshield......

Welcome to Florida....I use rain ex spray on my windshield and pretreat the front end with their bug and tar remover. You should see what the front of my motorhome looks like after a trip across the state. A lot of them will clear out after the hurricanes start.
