I'm trying to put together a group buy (20 or so buyers) for the '20 MY launch. I have some dealers interested, one even going to 7% under invoice in Connecticut.
At this point, with the JL line shutting down in a few weeks, I think waiting for the '20 MY is the way to go, as the order banks should open sometime in June.
This would be a big time and money saver for those of us in NY and New England, as we wouldn't have to go to Maryland to beat this price.

Anyway, let me know if you're interested, and we'll put something together.

Full disclosure: I am a school teacher on LI and have no affiliation with any dealer anywhere, nor am I getting anything out of this besides a good deal on a 2020 Wrangler.

Count me in. 7% under invoice (as long as the dealer fee is not exorbitant) for a 2020 would be an amazing deal.

Bet I could guess who the dealer is ;-). Count me in.

I’d suspect you,can get better than 7% under invoice if you have 20+ orders.

I know a guy who was part of a Ford Raptor group buy. They had 37 orders and basically qualified as fleet pricing and it was a significant savings,

Interested!

Went to my local dealer today and 1% below FWP is all they'd do, which simply is not good enough. Who is the dealer in Maryland and what do they offer? When would 2020's start being delivered?

Welcome to the Forum, Ed! This 1% BS in the Northeast is the problem. My guy is in Southern Connecticut (can't be too far from you) and he seems willing to go to 7% below FWP. You can get 8% at a couple of places in MD, but to drive 5+ hours for an extra 1% ($500 on a $50k build) may not be worth it for many. I'm just trying to gauge how many I can get aboard for a late-June group buy, in CT, at 7% below.
I'm thinking, optimistically, that the first '20s will be delivered in late July, but since the JL line is shutting down mid-May until early June, there's a chance early May orders won't be delivered until early July.
As more details become clearer, I will update this thread, but the more people I can get interested and then committed the better our deal will be. No obligation at this point, just sending out this feeler.

So, I'm relatively new around here. Is there anything specific about the 2020s that's worth waiting for?
Nothing we know of for sure. My reasoning is that by the time I'm ready to pull the trigger (early May), I may just as well wait for the '20s. With the JL line shutting down from mid-May until early June, a May ordered '19 might only arrive a month or so earlier than a June ordered '20 (of course, May/June is a great time to be driving a Wrangler and not waiting for one).

I've been hoping for the 3.6 V6 to finally get the BSG upgrade, like it did in the RAM 1500, but no word on that. I figure, if I'm going to have ESS, I want it with BSG (for more beating of the dead horses associated with those 2 acronyms, feel free to surf the forum).

Price increase? Almost definitely (though I think it will be modest). New color? Maybe. No more Moab (which I want)? Possibly. Better tire/wheel options? Who knows. A full-time 4WD option on the Rubicon (like they have in Europe)? Doubtful, but one can dream. Ventilated seats (like my backside has been praying for)? I'd love it. Anyway, I'm willing to wait and find out.

Do you have it in your RAM? Love it?
Yeah, I thought you might.

C'mon...come visit The City, buy in CT and enjoy the drive back to Illinois in your JL through the rolling hills and valleys of PA, OH and IN.

If I place order with you in May, can I defer delivery until October? My lease ends then.

Thanks! the dealer i went to is not high volume so not surprised on only getting the 1%.

Hopefully enough people here show interest because it looks like a great opportunity for savings.
