I'd rather have Jeep friends than be in a Jeep Club. I'll roll with the Club guys if I'm on the trail, but I won't actively search out a club to join.
LOL, I figured this is exactly what you would say :)

OK, mind blown...
We are on a NC to PA road trip right now. We drove from NC to Quantico VA last night which turned out to be a 5 hour trip due to traffic and to avoid that we took some back roads, normally this trip should take 4 hours. Bear with me here...
We often drive from Apex to Waynesville which takes 4 hours of drive time. We vary from 50 to 75 mph and we will burn a minimum of 3/4 tank of gas on that trip, usually running down to 1/8 tank left when we get there.
Here we are driving 5 hours varying from 35 to 73 mph and we burned just over 1/2 tank. WTH!!!!! It shows us averaging 20mpg.

HERE'S WHAT I DID. I am a big fan of BG 44K and LiquiMoly Injectron. I like to throw one of them in the tank when we take a trip. I put TWO LiquiMoly cans in a full tank when we left home. Each can covers 17 gallons of gas so in my 20 gallon tank I had enough for 34 gallons. I am dumbfounded that this had that much of an impact. Anyone else ever get results like this? I'm going to throw a thread out on the forum as well.

I went from Charlotte to DC and back this week and averaged about 21 mpg. Tons of traffic, lots of rain and the car loaded down with wife and two kids and luggage. Traffic was insane getting out of DC Friday afternoon. Bumper to bumper all the way to Fredericksburg. :0

We were down last weekend and got the pass as well. Most of our beach day trips are spur of moment as well but we will post here too to let you guys know. We're in Apex as well, about 5 mins from downtown.

Best I can think of as far as the mileage is fewer hills? I've got no experience with liquimoly and the like.

Now my main question will be, Once you were in Quantico, did you stop by the Marine Corps Museum? It is one of the best places to go in the DC area second to the Smithsonian itself. No charge entry, and is a full history of the Marine Corps, with the GWOT areas getting updated. If you haven't been there, I 100% recommend it.

Have not posted in a while but wanted to finally introduce myself in with the NC Jeep Owners! First time Jeep owner and finally took the Rubicon properly off-road in Uwharrie this past Saturday. I was surprised to see the trails open with rain, but it definitely added to the challenge. We did 2 Easy trails and 2 Moderate Trails. Some sections of the Moderate trails were definitely beyond my comfort level on first go, especially with how slick and sloppy the trail was, but we had a BLAST. The Rubicon was even more impressive than I was expecting, and cannot wait to return, hopefully with some fellow Jeepers next time. Happy Trails everyone!

Very nice, man! I'm down to go one more time before June. Dickey Bell is a badge trail and @UNC Rubicon mentioned he wanted to do this.

Welcome, you're pretty close to me in Winston.

Your pics also show why I am looking at getting MTs on my Jeep in the future.

Yes... the BFG AT's are a phenomenal tire, but their biggest weakness is mud.
