Went with the 4’.

4’ reaches above the ground plane for the distance I need from the antenna, which is about 1-2.5 miles or so.
Gotcha. Looks taller than my 4 foot which is mounted to the top hinge bracket. I was able to get really good results. SWR was perfect.

I had a good time out there today. I helped 9 people out of the ditch. Even pulled one guy backwards up the on ramp, down the road, and into the parking lot by China Cafe. Lol. Jeep did well, as expected. Winch did really good, too, but I found out really quick my ultra hook does not fit into regular passenger car tow points. It’s too big. Soft shackles are coming for Christmas, I’m hoping. Here’s some random pics.

Man, you are a Good Samaritan! I’m sure all the folks you helped out greatly appreciated you taken the time in what was a stressful position for them. With all the cladding on cars now a days, it’s really impressive you found a place on each to secure your snatch strap/which cable.

We didn’t have nearly as much on the ground here to try out our Jeep...though we did wonder around a bit..., but it sounds like the KO2’s did really well.

BTW, the Snowman on the hood is awesome!

I forgot to mention who makes the light.

This one is Rugged Ridge.
I think I found the one you were talking about. Looks like a pretty simple install for that.

Thanks man. I truly enjoy playing in the snow with the Jeep.

Every car I pulled out had something to hook to. I did, however, have an issue with my ultrahook. It's too big for regular car hooks and loops. I used an additional strap and then connected it to the hook. I'll have to see about getting some soft shackles; been dropping hints to the woman for a set for Christmas.

KO2's did great. No issues getting where I needed to go.

The snowman reached a velocity of 43mph before committing suicide on Business 40. He was a good man.

It's super easy. The wiring you need to tie into is right there, too. It's not bad at all. If you pick one up I can show you how to do it.

I have a spare tire cover so I won't be going in that particular direction. I just thought it was pretty cool seeing it.

What I am looking to do is either getting Brett's extra soft top, or getting a Rugged Ridge brush guard... Depending on how the Christmas Bonus works out.

Next Jeep will have Dual tops.... not making that mistake again....

I removed the freedom panels this evening and took the kids to the Festival of Lights in Tanglewood. It was in the mid 40s when we left Kernersville and a balmy 36 when we got home.

What better way to see the lights than with the kids hanging out of the Jeep?

Nice.

Random side note, you almost have as many miles on this Jeep as you do posts on here. Lol
