1) What are your going rates for doing the swap?

2) I assume it's best to pot the sensors while everything is out?

3) Do I need the overhaul ket or the rebuild kit to go along with the gears?

Gears are $900 plus parts/fluid.

Definitely pot the sensors. That won't cost you any extra except for the compound, which is something like $12 or $15. Not sure what the cost for it is, but Amazon has it.

I never recommend anything other than the Master Kits unless it's a trail fix or the Jeep is very new. 1k miles or less; something like that.

What gear oil do you suggest/recommend? The manual says 75W85, however, a lot of posters apparently use 75W90 in the front and 75W140 in the rear.

The 75W140 is the tow weight.

I use 75W90 up front and the 140 out back.

The reason is: By the time you add up the Net Weight gain from modifications, you're essentially towing a 300-500lb trailer all the time. The only time I wouldn't recommend this, is if you lived in an area that gets and stays below freezing for months at a time. Even then, I'd be changing the fluid out to accommodate the seasons at that point. For almost everyone, I would recommend the 90/140 combo I mentioned.

Apparently, the rangers won’t let you get muddy. The damn thing is closed. It’s been freaking 95 every day for a month and normal afternoon showers shut down the whole system?

This is very common since every one of these parks has to comply with the EPA's erosion protection guidelines. It's not just to keep everyone safe and to keep the park from being destroyed. More importantly, it's to keep them open for everyone to enjoy.

Right on. Yeah, it's dis-heartening some times. It really sucks when you drive 8 hours and then wheel one day and they close it for the following week for the same thing. That's happened to me only one time, but it sucks all the way around. Hopefully it dries up quick.

We ended up finding Iron Mountain OHV Park about a half hour away in Dahlonega.

Nice setup, but would have been boringly easy in the dry. Has a nice store, campground, rentals, and an amphitheater. Most of the facilities look pretty new. Kind of like Gulches minus anything difficult.

Its all red clay spent a half hour at the coin op getting it off.

Wanted to hit up the dive bar from the Ashley McBride song, turns out it’s really about a nicer restaurant , and Dive Bar was just added because it sounded good.

Thinking of heading to AOP tomorrow.

Just did some hiking today, but ended up meeting a Raptor Club at the brewery in Ellijay that had some local recommendations for later this week that looked decent. Weird to see a bunch of dirty ford Raptors.

I think we’re gonna do the GSMJI again this year. Anyone else heading there end of August?

Was one of the places that they recommended Cashes Valley? It's an in and out double track with no challenges. It does cross back and forth through Fightingtown Creek a few time so you might could get some of the mud off the under-carriage.
