Glad to see a lively NC thread here!

Quick question for those of you that've made it to Uwharrie this season - how's Wolf's Den doing with the rutting?
3 weeks ago Wolfs to Poser Rock to Sawmill only issue with stock JLU Sahara 4xe on 33's was the speed bumps on Sawmill were 1/2" too tall for the skid plates...Thanks to Jazzicon and chevymitchell we now sit rubi XR height -1/2" for battery in rear and will be comfortable on them. There was a cherokee trailhawk coming out as we were coming in, 2 dr Rubi you will b fine diff wasnt the problem breakover angle was.

Thanks! Last Nov was our last trip before the JK went to fund the JL, and two Tacos and a Land Rover got pulled off that hill - Land Rover was crossed up bad too, tried to turn around up there - so I was worried it was chewed up even more, glad to hear it's not. And yeah, those humps are hard on LWB - it was always within an inch or so on my JKR with a 3ish"/37s combo, so I know I'll be riding the belly good with the JLR. Took a guy with a brand new JTR down Wolf's/Falls Dam/Rocky Mtn and I'm pretty sure he spent more time on belly skids than he did off of them lol

Anyone on here from or been around the Beaufort area? Headed there for a weekend conference. Not sure if Iā€™ll get a chance to explore but, if I can and thereā€™s a place to take the Jeep, Iā€™d like to check it out.

Can catch the ferry to cape lookout, and the annual pass is cheap:
"Cape Lookout National Seashore allows vehicles to drive off-road, it is not an "off-road park." Driving is allowed as a means of transportation only... Unlike other area beaches, Cape Lookout does not have any paved or hard-surface roads within its boundaries. All driving within the park is done on sand."

Grew up down around there (Havelock) - it's nice enough. Quiet, lots of pines, muggy. You'll be right near Atlantic beach - no wheeling (Cape Lookout is really it down there), but shorter than the ferry. The wife and I dig Sanitary Fish Market in Morehead for grub.

After a very long week of flight testing in Pennsylvania, I was able to get back and get Pain Trainā€™s axles stabbed in. Everything is just roughed in right now, which means thereā€™s a lot of adjustments, trimming, and cycling left to do. I threw the front wheels and tires on just to get an idea of what it will look like and damnā€¦ itā€™s really looking badass!

Rear axle will come back out for the lower control arm brackets to be welded on.

Front axle just needs some trimming and fine tuning. Gonna stretch the wheelbase about 1.5-2ā€ from stock. Itā€™s about all you can get from a Trackbar suspension with the brackets in the factory locations.

Got a long ways to go, but itā€™s nice to see progress; keeps me motivated. Iā€™m easily over 100 man hours into this Jeep now. Got at least that to go. Bonus pics - Aria was helping me install the new suspension bolts to check for length.

Jointed balls for @GhostDiversā€™ Rubi.

Donā€™s knuckle is like those really good chip appetizers ordered extra floppy. Lol.

These were certainly overdue replacement.

Pro-tip - If you have RCVā€™s and you need to do this job, leave the shaft in place and take the knuckle off first. This way you donā€™t run the risk of destroying the RCV boot during dis-assembly or re-assembly.

Nemo Tunnel on Saturday.

Gets pretty dark in there, but is a cool experience when the water still has a smooth surface.

I went down the right side of the trestle. Video exists of me on 3 wheels (even while disconnected) that I don't have access to yet.

Tahoe didn't quite make the turn and scraped his fender on the trestle.

I used to live down there. Only had a rear wheel drive at the time (But got to ride around in HMMWVs all the time ) so I didn't get to explore any off road. Great Seafood though! :involve:

Yeah, it was fun for an afternoon of just driving around. Found a few spots where either bigger tires or lockers would have been a good help.

I've had this on order since October. Being a Pre-Order guy, I got the V-Bar and X-Bar options for free. This cage may be the only reason why I keep the backseat. I'm not sure yet...
