Is this knocking normal for the 2.0L? I've only placed 5k miles on it him in almost two months but this started randomly after using the 4H at 3400 miles. It's very loud and embarrassing when peeps mention it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a similar click/rattle sounding noise that mine makes while driving when I let off the gas slowing down in lower RPMs (usually 1,000-1,500) that sounds like it's coming from the driver side lower area of the engine bay. I had it checked out twice by two different dealerships. The first dealership said that it was "turbo noise" which I didn't think was correct because the noise isn't even coming from where the turbo is located on the Jeep. The second dealership said that it was related to the differential, was normal, and that a cover muffling the noise to the cabin has fallen because a grommet fell off. Since the grommet/cover was fixed, I can no longer hear the noise inside the cabin. Usually I only hear it when my doors are off. Either way, I was told that the noise is completely normal, and I have been driving it with it making that noise since January (over 10,000ish miles).

Your best bet is to take it in and show them while it's under warranty. That covers you in case there is an issue or if something arises later because there is proof of your visits and your concern of the noise. If they "can't recreate the noise" make sure to show them the video. You could also open a claim with Jeep Cares. I did that on my second opinion visit, and they helped a lot.

Sound clips are really hard to get right with a cellphone.
Hard to tell if normal or not.

my Jeep has the same knock and is currently being replaced. They are replacing the entire engine. Also, the service rear axel light came on and replacing front axel now and the soft top due to wear and tear after only 12k miles.

Iā€™ve experienced this same clicking noise as youā€™ve described. Occurs while decelerating at low speeds. Noticed it this summer when my windows were down / doors off. No idea what it is but sounds like itā€™s normal. Maybe.

Sounds like crank/crankcase bearings?? Noise is random, it doesn't have a pattern but it definitely sounds like something is rattling and if it does this at idle, it will do it at high RPM and under load too but you wont hear it because you will be driving down the road.. I would get this looked into asap!

Does anyone think this could be related to oil starvation?? That wont happen under idle though or can it??

Yep, same exact thing I have. There is definitely a pattern because it only happens at low RPMs when decelerating. I was just told it related to the differential and is normal, but who really knows.

Can you post your dealer sheet for the repair?

The clacking sound in the video is what I sometimes hear when letting off the gas around 30mph. I don't feel anything, no vibrations or shuttering. But that clacking sound is exactly what I've described in other posts. Sounds like it's from the middle-front passenger side of vehicle.

I have an AT 3.6

Get it checked. It's normal if you hear this type of sound during warm up. All my turbo cars have had it. However, if it increases with RPM and doesnt go away then you have an issue. Best of luck.

P.S just read you have it on a N/A engine... take it in.

I would get that to the dealership as soon as humanly possible. It's not going to get better.
