Yep, I've just come back from that area. I'm familiar :)
Most of the high elevation areas were flat out closed when I was there recently. That was during that huge storm though. I love that shit.
snow can get deep up in there, be safe

downed trees or mudslides were what i figured that last time, wind was gnarly
Oh man it was WILD. Biggest rockslides I've seen in my life. Biggest landslides by far too. 10-20x the size of anything I've seen. Rain was wild, mud was wild. It was absolutely insane. I had a blast :D

Got to chop down my first tree too. Hand saw though :(
Definitely need to bring a Ryobi chainsaw with me to Idaho next year.

Speaking of that, I'm headed to complete the Northern 50% of the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route (did the south half on my bike this year) in July 2022. If anyone is interested in tagging along, let me know. A bunch of friends will be on bikes, so it would be nice to have another 4whl out there :) Leaving July 14th IIRC.

I'm not sure what the snow level is but if there's snow/ice on the ground be weary on the last accent to the summit. While typically a walk in the park with ice or snow it could be a bit challenging given how exposed you are around the steep hills. Also, I don't recall any place to anchor a winch to at that final accent. If there is snow you may want to consider going up the entry from the Cisco groove exit, IIRC. Typically that would be the exit.

Looking forward to some photos.
I ended up going solo so not too many pics. No snow. No dust and no bugs. Super nice.
I did get to a point I had to turn around before the summit. I didn’t want to keep at it by myself, so I’d turned around.
I tried the cisco grove side but the road is closed there. Still a nice day trip.

I remember that last rock. A bit after that we got hung up on the small Z turn area with the ruts. Took a bit of spotting to get the stock JLU over. That one area is what convinced me it was lift time.

I’d say that’s probably where I got hung up. Having the lift was like a cheat code from when it was stock.

It’s a bit later on from this spot where I got turned around. The trail , rocks and roots were wet enough that kept the KO2’s from being able to bite. I was at 16 psi. Guess I coulda tried a little lower psi.

It was a super pretty day. If Anyone wants to run it, the sooner the better before the snow hits.
fun trail for sure.

Nice it looks like a blast!! I'm hoping to get up there soon! Maybe Friday before all the weekend traffic hits.

I've never driven in snow, and certainly nothing like that before. Would my Sahara do ok? No lockers, and not sure if that's an issue for deep snow like that. I have Rubicon suspension/wheels/MT takeoffs and a winch + recovery gear. How worried should I be?
