Got out to Ida Clayton Road, Old Toll Road, Fish Rock Road, and some surrounding areas last weekend. Was a great time getting this thing in the dirt a bit. It handles so nicely. Looking like I might be going to Knoxville OHV this weekend if they have any camping space. Anyone else ever been there with their Jeep?
I went to Knoxville OHV last Sunday with my son for the first time. Overall a fun time as we explored the area. The main road North to South is fairly easy and only requires 2WD. There are many side trails and some are definitely single track motorcycle tracks. I used Gaia maps (pre-downloaded the area) and explored all the trails that went through on the map. We did wander down a dead end once and had to turn around. There is a camp ground with pit toilets. Saw several other 4wheelers, but no one was camping. We got there from Lower Lake.

Great to see your German shepherds. You don’t see them much anymore or dobermans.

Does anyone know where I can find some hub caps for pro comp steel wheels? Looks like the ones for my wheels are discontinued.

Well that was an adventure! Lol I'll be up at moon rocks memorial weekend if anyone is up there too. Stop by for a beer! Second camp, probably somewhere in the back.

I figured I stop by this thread and check-in. I recently purchased a JLURD for my wife and we live in the east bay. While I'm not new to offroading, I am new to the JL platform. The plan is to use the JL for more family-oriented trips while my TJ will be more for the "tougher" trails or when the kids aren't tagging along.

Looking forward to learning about the new platform and asking questions when the time comes to start building it up a bit. - Right now the idea is to run it as is for a while then start upgrading. Likely a 3.5" lift, 37, (or 2" and 35's Still undecided) Genright aluminum bumpers/aluminum skids, regear, and all the fun stuff that goes along with it.

Since posts are always better with photo's here is a picture of the new addition to the family the day we brought it home.

Couple of nice looking rigs!! Welcome to the JL platform. Stock, these things do pretty well. How’s the diesel and soft top with road noise on the freeways?

My son and I are wanting to do the Rubicon Trail and/or Fordyce this summer. Our timeframe is anytime from 28 July through 7 August. Thought I'd hit up this group to see if there's any interest in one or both of those trails.

Disclaimer: I've never been on either one before, so even better if someone who has wants to go!

Thanks the TJ has been a labor of love for the past 6 or so years.

The diesel is really quiet and unless you're standing next to the hood you likely wouldn't even know that it's not a gasser. I was really impressed when I got 26mpg heading back from San Jose after purchasing it.

As far as the soft-top goes it's much quieter than my TJ but louder than the hardtop as to be expected in the JL. That said you can easily have a normal conversation while on the freeway going 75 mph and not need to raise your voice. If it was primarily my jeep I'd likely keep the soft top on all the time for the ease of lowering the roof but since it isn't we ordered a hardtop which will likely arrive in the next month or so.
