Where are you guys heading to? My dad, in his FJ, and I in my Jeep were looking to go somewhere. If you don’t mind two tagging along.

We are going to take some dirt back-roads to the El Dorado NF area and then head up to Leek Spring Hill Fire Lookout. And of course you are welcome to come along.

So happy to hear you are both coming and we are excited to show you some of what we have discovered up there. My wife and I scouted out more pretty stuff today. We tried a new road, Caldor Road and after running it for miles we got within a quarter mile to half mile of where it hooks back into paved road and it was washed out (see the photo below). Also saw a very pretty waterfall off in the distance and flew the drone out for some footage.

We are firming up details for the day but we will probably meet at 9am or 10am in the Rancho Cordova area and head out from there if that works for both of you. Pack a lunch and we will find a great spot to relax.

We had a blast!

That was my first time out with my Jeep (have been out with David’s JK) and learned a lot. One of them being that being in the open Jeep in the dirt all day does wear on you. I’ll close it up next time. I’m not done cleaning .
