Afraid that you are using different numbers in VA. We are in a completely different market in Southern California.

$50k - $30k = $20k here
Ok, if you would pay $50k for one then I don't want you with me. I figure $42k -$20k = $22k.

Sounds like you are talking about a stripped Rubicon VS a stripped Sport.

Stripped or not, it has all the items listed in my original post. I don't think you will get a stripped any Wrangler of any model for $22k. :like:

I bought a Willys Sport S and my only regret is wanting the 8.4 Uconnect over the 7”. They only offered it with the Sun and Wind package which I didn’t want. Maybe I should of waiting for the 2021’s.

I got a well equipped Sahara: V6, auto, Selec-Trac, Cold Weather Group, Safety Group, Tow Group, painted hardtop, 8.4” & Alpine Sound, proximity door locks and cargo rail system.

It was missing leather seats and front LEDs —Safety Group includes rear LEDs— both of which I wanted. I got a sweet deal on the Jeep: MSRP $50,000, $38,000 before tax & license; so I added LEDs and leather seats for an extra $3,000.

Well worth it, IMO,

I went with a 2018 Sport with LSD/Dana 44 rear, AC, hard top, tinted windows. I added a new steel front bumper for about $250, a winch for about $250, side rock rails with steps for about $300, and a 3.5” JKS lift kit, resulting in about 5” of lift, with quick discos and Fox shocks for $2400. In Florida, I do just fine with BLD off-road. Total $3200, give or take. I bought my Sport for 21% off listed dealership price. Total brings me to about $34,200 for my built Jeep. Oh, I did get floor mats for both Jeeps too. Forgot the cost of those, maybe another couple hundred for both Jeeps.

I did replace the tires with 33s. Does that count? The stock tires were dangerous. That brings me up to about $36K. Also, aftermarket trail lights for about a hundred.

tho the rubicon is a well equipped jl, i'm happy with my base model sport. because i can build it the way i want it and still keep it on a low budget. @Wabujitsu is a good example.

Just the Lockers.
If the day happens, when I need to get 35's, and swap out gears, a good set of lockers will be put in there too. But, since I dont rock crawl, that might be a while.

My 2019 JLU Sport S has every thing I wanted.
Running boards, 7” screen, technology package (including remote start) and cold weather package. It’s my daily driver so I like convenience and creature comfort. And it was a lot less money than a Sahara.

No regrets here other than the LED lights which I guess you can order on a Sport now. For the trails I do around Ouray I've never come remotely close to needing more. I swapped out the 7" for an 8.4" just because it's an easy upgrade. Small lift, bumper/winch, offroad lights, and 315/70/17 KO2's and I found a decent combo with a mostly stock ride with adequate off road performance.

The only Non sport S thing from the rubicon i would have payed for was the lockers honestly. For light trail riding in BC Canada my 2 door sport s has been everything that i could ask for.
This.

I would have gladly paid for the locker upgrade. Everything else I couldn't care less about.
