Trip report for July fifth through the eighth. Took the JL up to the Bridgeport area for three days and two nights. First off I went in summer mode, bikini top and tube doors. I have spent a lot of hours on a motorcycle so it didn’t bother me one bit to be in the open air. Seven hour drive from San Luis Obispo over hwy 108. It was a beautiful drive over the sierra mountains. It was kind of strange driving past snow at 75 degrees. I camped at the Dynamo Pond.

I spent Thursday fishing and exploring. Fishing was a bust but the wheeling was great. Unfortunately most of the trails ended in impassable snow or heavy runoff. But I got to see a lot of the area and do some short but technical trails. I got about two miles up Kavanaugh Ridge before I got Snowed out.

The only bummer of the trip is now I have a Jeep full dust. I’m probably going to have to spend the next two days cleaning. A small price to pay.

Nice pics. What a heavy snow pack they had this year. What elevation was the snow pic taken at?

A leaf blower and a blower attachement on a compressor hose will go a long way towards getting a lot of that dust out. Quick and easy.

Thanks Man. Great idea. That is Virginia Lake, 9800 feet.
