What direction would you point me in for looking at tire size and type if I did not want to lift my Jeep?

I really like the stance and height of the stock JL and my Jeep is my daily driver (70 mile round trip interstate commute) that I hope to take on some mild Midwest offroading 3-5 times a year. Hopefully more when the kids get older, but for now my time is limited.

When ordering my Jeep I steered away from mud-terrains and opted for all terrain tires for better road noise/feel and mpg. Is this thinking correct? What would you consider in my situation for my next set of tires?

Thanks in advance!

Aren't the KO2's the all-terrain tires that the OP likely steered away from initially?

C rated KO2 are good
You were correct in staying away from MTs

He opted for the ATs instead of MTs, he will either get KO2s or Falken Wildpeak, or Bridgestone ATs, not sure what they are using atm, all of which are good ATs for Mild off roading

I wouldn't recommend the KO's for a J:LU--they are to GRAVEL FRIENDLY(THROW)--

Why don't you see how your STOCK TIRES WEAR (rotation) and then decide if you want to go bigger/M&S/etc !

I've had GREAT luck with my WRANGLER A/T's on my RAM--I only use M&S on my jeep !

Good luck

I am in agreement. KO2's. One thing I'll throw out there is the new Firestone Destination XT.

I put them on my new Ranger and they are superb. Very quiet and tough. Dare I say the best snow AT I have owned. Even we’ll surpassing the Duratac and KO2. They are a new tire for them.

I love my Falken Wildpeaks M/T. When it is time to replace I will probably go with A/T, since I am not doing any hardcore offroading. I had the A/Ts on my Tacoma and they were great as well.

If you get any consistent snowfall Duratracs. They ride like an AT on street but are great off-road, great in rain and amazing in snow. Good for DDing and you could get them in 245 or 255 too.

I put 285 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my Sport. Very quiet ride, lots of grip. No complaints.

@agarber5687 I went from the stock wheels and tires to KO2s 285/70/17 on new wheels, and I will say that there was definitely a difference in the drive before and after.
Personally, if I was doing 70 miles a day, I probably would have swapped back to stock, but I'm not, and I love the look of the new wheels and tires

I would say keep going with the stock tires, see how they work for you, and when it comes time to replace, ask yourself if they have done all that you have asked of them...

I put KO2’s on my JLUS about 20k ago and they are wearing perfect, my JL is lifted but lifted or not they should wear well. I do rotate every 5k miles
