Nice write up. I like wheeling there.I love In-n-out. There's one just down the street from my house and if the wind hits right I can get the smell of french fries when I'm sitting in my backyard. It's the best.
But moving back onto the trip..........
DAY 8: Hidden Falls Adventure Park
Today I met up with @cornercanyon , @R4NS0M and @Rotsam to run the trails at Hidden Falls Adventure Park. It was such a fun day with some really awesome people. The park reminded me a bit of Cleghorn (for you Socal people following along). There's an outer main trail with obstacles you can take or bypass.
@Rotsam just got his new Jeep yesterday in the color I always wanted:
Although it certain light ours did look pretty similar in color.
Here are the his and hers Jeeps:
Here are some great pics taken by @R4NS0M:
And the big moment on the "Downhill O' Regrets". I tried to put it in 1st gear 4 lo and let it slowly crawl down but no dice. Jeep started gaining speed and when I slowed it down with the brakes it stalled out.
Then the brakes stopped working so I couldn't get the Jeep started again. I thought I was going to just roll on down the hill and off the mountain. I was finally able to get it started with the help of my e-brake. When I finally got to the bottom I looked up and don't know what I was thinking. I always say I'm going to take things easy and before I know it I'm driving down 3 foot ledges.
I think it was after this that I developed a weird clunky/clicking sound somewhere on the drivers side. We checked it out but couldn't find the source so I just fixed it by turning up my music thus eliminating the noise.
Here is the Jeep after the run. I got some mud to cover the mud that was already on there.
I will say the Coopers did an amazing job. They crawled right up some things that I think my KO2s would have struggled with. I can't believe I already have 5000 miles on these tires. Tomorrow I'm going to get them rotated at a local Discount Tire since I still have 1500 miles to go to get back home.
I'll be running Northwest OHV in Bridgeport on Sunday before making the 3 day drive back to LA.
