I don't find anything in the manual about this.

Seems like it would have been fairly easy to implement a few different shifting profiles/modes.

Does the Grand Cherokee or one of the Ram trucks come with this on the new 8-speed?

My GC has Eco and Sport Mode. I drive it in regular mode. Actually get 2 MPG better in regular mode than Eco...

Interesting. I wonder why that is.
Probably because I have to press the accelerator deeper to get it going, maintain speed etc. Basically it seems to put you in a year to early to run lower rpms. Where sport mode holds gears out longer to run higher Rpms and be more responsive.

I find the same thing in my Grand Cherokee, 1-2 MPG lower in Eco compared to Normal. I actually think Sport would return decent MPG if it would let the trans shift into 8th gear. A lot of my commute is on hwy and not allowing the trans to shift into 8th at 65-80 MPH is not helpful......I think in the city Sport would work well and still deliver good MPG but I haven't tried going back and forth to see what the average is. Just run it it normal mode.
