Yesterday I added some windshield wiper fluid to the 2020 Jeep JLUR, this morning there is no engine temp, the engine light is on, and I get the A!. Is this a known issue? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Either an open or short circuit on the coolant temp sensor. You’re out of warranty on that item, so you may want to get to it yourself.

Yea, I know I am out of warranty, wish I could simply call the dealer, but such as life!

Two questions:
  1. I did post the same Q on FB and someone there suggested it might be the auxiliary battery. Any thoughts on the validity of that statement?
  2. Where is the coolant temp sensor?

No, it has nothing to do with the aux battery.
As far as I can tell, our version of the 3.6 has relocated the temp sensor to the thermostat housing, which is quite nice of them. Previously it was under the intake on the oil cooler.

Just got back from Autozone. I am a little disheartened with the reading I go... The printout says the odometer is 66155 miles, but as seen in the images it is 41,100ish. But diagnostics codes make sense:

P0117: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit Low

Secondary DTC:
P0128: Coolant Thermostat (coolant Temp Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)

I wouldn’t worry about the mileage being off. Their scanner may need a software update. When I used Durametric to scan my Porsche Cayenne, it would tell me 160k miles when Porsche’s scanner at the dealership gave me the same as the dash. Durametric knew of the issue, but never updated their software to read the mileage correctly. If you are truly worried, have the dealership scan it once.

I’ll get the info here in a bit when the kiddo lays down.

Mileage is off because it’s reading in KM.

If you had the P0117 by itself, I would say to immediately replace the sensor. The secondary DTC, P0128, indicates a thermostat that is opening far too soon which could cause both DTC's.

Check the easy stuff first: leaks, coolant level, sensor plug condition, pushed pins, chaffed harness, etc...

It's highly likely the sensor has simply failed, as previously mentioned. If it were me doing the work, I'd meter it out, but I would also just replace both the sensor and thermostat and move on, especially since they're both cheap and the replacement is easily accomplished.

P0117 test attached.

Here's the info for P0128:

P0128 is always the thermostat, but with a faulty sensor, it’s not a primary trouble code. The thermostat does come with the temp sensor, however.

Have you even popped your hood open yet?

I had a VW that overheated every time I put the AC on. I changed out the fan relay from autozone and it still over heated. After 2 years I finally sold it but replaced the fan relay with a factory original relay and low and behold the fans kicked on. Moral of the story is to Make sure you purchase your sensor from mopar

I took it to a local shop, it is exactly what we thought, the sensor was bad.
