Looks like I just got taken for $120 trying to buy the Dirty Dog Barrier from 80 Proof. I don’t think 80 Proof is the one that screwed me over. Since 80 Proof had not been on the site for a while someone from the forum sent me 80 Proofs direct email address to make the purchase, or so I thought. Yes, I looked at the warnings on the market place, but apparently was to trusting and sent the money via PayPal “Friends and Family” after communicating with who I thought was 80 Proof. The for sale ad did not have the required piece of paper with the sellers info included. So when I inquired about when the item was shipped several days later I was told that FedEx delayed the shipping and needed another $50 due to weight. STRIKE 1, 2, 3 and 4. I now know it was a SCAM.
Shame on me for not paying attention to others warnings. Oh well, lesson learned. Now I will go back to my motto of Trust No One and will be leery of my future dealings.

I have reported the ad. I also need to make a correction, the ad was posted by 90 Proof not 80 Proof. I apologize to 80 Proof if there is a user on this forum going by that name.

it's almost happened to me like 5x on here already, luckily everything i bought i have received so far...does seem risky here with that same exact scam

Glad to hear yours worked out. I have bought a ton of parts of of MINI Cooper and Porsche forums over the years and have never had an issue. I just hope the scammer here enjoys their money they got off me and karma doesn’t bite them to hard. ?

So I found some more info on who scammed me. I received an email from Matte saying 90Proof could be reached at [email protected] so be on the look out for that name and email address.
