Hey guys,

New wrangler owner - coming from a Grand Cherokee. I still have both but I pulled the trigger on the new JL because I fell in love with it. Took some time but i found the wheels I wanted and i think it looks AWESOME!

Tires: Mickey Thompson Deegan 38's (35x12.5x20)
Wheels: LRG Matte Black

last thing I will be doing is adding the MOPAR 2 inch lift to really set the car off.

That looks great!

Your backspacing and tire width are perfect by my taste. That’s exactly how much I want my tires sticking out

How is it going driving around on 35s with no lift, so far?

So far the ride is compltely fine. No rubbing at all and still mostly comfortable. I'm sticking to this setup for awhile!

Did you reinforce the tail gate? If no, maybe you want to think about it??
Is there a need to? The tailgate can accommodate a 35 inch tire with no problem

looks great. I just ordered some general grabber x3s in same size but on 17s. Hopefully I have no issues without a lift.

Yes but it is only rated to 85lbs. I’m sure your new combo exceeds that weight limit as many 35” tires alone weigh 65 to 75 pounds.

Yeah, it is really nothing to do with size, it's weight. I think Jeep says max is 85lbs. Most 35's are going to be minimally 60-65 lbs and then the weight of the rim - which varies widely. I'd say you are at least close if not over the maximum weight. The risk is that you may develop a big "dent" over time. I'm not risking it - and did the tail gate reinforcement.... but my Mopar beadlockers are probably heavier than most!

The full $600+ reinforcement? Or is there a cheaper option?

Also, what are the Deegans like? Are those true MTs, or suitable for a mall krawler like myself who wants the aggressive look, with a quiet, smooth ride and good handling?

Considering Ridge Grapplers and Duratracs and KO2s currently.

@nota4re how do you like the Mopar's? I am close to ordering them. I am a little concerned about their weight and dragging the JLUR down a bit. I will likely run 315/70/17 KO2's but also considering Cooper SST Pros. I would like to color match the lock rings to Punk'n.
