How did we get here? A basic cigarette lighter port can be adapted to work with any type of tech. I really wish there was a Wrangler edition with zero tech. Just decent axles, lockers, and transfer case.

That's USB-C and it's not exactly new. There are USB-C ports on the '21 and up. (Not sure about '20s)

So, we have apple car play. Now apple's newest phones have a different USB cord that does NOT fit with traditional USB's like in my 2019 JL.
Will Jeep be updating this on 2022 moving forward or are we all screwed with being able to attach a power cord in our jeeps since new iphones use a different power cord?

Negative, Firewire is IEEE1394, that is USB C.
