New update for 8.4 Uconnect radio

Their site says the full version is required for Configuration changes. These are the two settings that need set to yes:

Cust.Set.Menu 3: Tire Fill Alert Enable/Disable CSM Present: Yes
VehConfig 8: Selectable Tire Fill Alert Present: Yes

You also need a Security Gateway Bypass cable and an OBD dongle as usual.

By dongle you mean an OBD to USB cable to the laptop?

quality improvements, wondering what that means

It's a cop out. When a version changes version history should be available. You see this on a lot of phone apps also. Having version history is helpful if you need to diagnose issues!

I have an 8.4 uconnect.

I guess I have been lucky since I have had no issues or problems.

Android auto has worked flawlessly with my Samsung S20.

When I pulled into work today, my 8.4 radio said it wanted to install an update. I guess we'll see what happens later on today when I go home.
Has anyone else gotten an update recently?
I figured they were done with Uconnect4 units and moved on with Uconnect5.. I didn't expect any more updates.

the $149 is for the Nav map update. This is update is for the system software.

Hold the drivers side temp increase, temp decrease, and front defrost buttons down at the same time for 5 or 6 seconds. That should get you into “dealer mode”. From there, you’ll find it.

Another reason to not use the crappy built-in navigation unless there's no other option.

To the best of my knowledge, if you do not accept / allow the update, it will nag screen you each and every time you start the vehicle up.

That screen must be related to my wife

I have a ‘21 Rubicon with the 8.4 and no updates to my knowledge unless it updated itself in the background. I’d have to do some playing around with things to verify. Only issue I’ve had with my system is the way button icons haphazardly relocate themselves on the pages.
@rcadden you shouldn’t have an issue with getting the selectable tire fill alert as my Jeep has it. As someone else mentioned I think it’s more of a PIA than anything. Maybe I just don’t understand how it’s supposed to work.

For those that keep stating the update is for the emergency vehicles alert. I don’t believe that’s correct. I’ve been getting that for over a year.

Weird - I tried to activate it a few times last night with JScan and couldn't get it to show up at all. Finally gave up and figured mine wasn't equipped, but if you have it, then I should have it, for sure.

It's also entirely possible that I wasn't using JScan correctly, lol. I might give it another go.
