hi guys

Its finally time to replace my stock tyres - Dulcer Bridgestone H/T 255 70 R18. This is my wifes car and not used for off-road - I know! The standard tyres are ok, but handling is average.

Main goal from the new tyres is handling and grip on road. She would like something that looks chunky. What would everyone recommend? As I say its on road performance/handling that is number 1 priority.

We dont plan to replace the rims, just the tyres.

Do "looks chunky" and "grip on road" go hand in hand? 🤔

I've just swapped out my factory 18" Overland road-grippy wheels and tyres for chunky 17" Rubicon wheels and tyres.

I'm no tyre expert, but I think it might be one or the other? 🤷‍♂️

Thanks, I have ditched the chunky idea, 100% focusing on grip and road handling. There is too much choice! If anyone has bought highway road tyres (no off road) and are happy with their performance, handling, grip and comfort (I know this is personal choice) can you please let me which tyre you chose ?

HI Guys,

Anyone else got suggestions on tyres, highway for road hadnling no off road(its the wifes run around - dont ask!). Let me know what you have fitted and if happy with them ?

The Dulcer tyres fitted are paaa for handling, they are an on-road high tyre. A/T all terrain not interested, really looking at the H/T high tyre options.

cheers, Jon

Just go with the original size in a load range C. All season like this looks good and handles well on my Cadillac SRX.

Not much you can do to increase handling since it already had road tires on there. But Michelins are usually top notch when it comes to highway driving on SUVs and trucks. The Continental TerrainContact AT is supposed to be one of the best road going AT tires. Not chunky but a bit more aggressive than what you have on there and will probably ride better
