In my excited haste to upgrade my wheels finally, I focus too much on offset… And neglected rim size.

Currently sitting on 5, 17in rims, and have 5, 18in tires

My tires have about 10K on them and the mechanic says there’s minimal wear, so they’re still good.

The issue is he “mounted” (but really sized) one of the rims and we discovered the size difference.

So now stuck with having to order 5 new tires or try to return/sell the rims and get new ones.

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated

I’m not sure I understand.

you have a sahara so it has 18” stock rims.
are you saying that you accidentally purchased a new set of 17” rims and now can’t mount 18” tires? it Also doesn’t sound like you are running stock tires right now. Are the Existing 18” tires That you reference 315/70/18?

if that is what you are saying, I would probably stick with the 17” rims and buy new 315/70/17s (you might be able to find someone on here selling those tires inexpensively if they are moving Up to 37’s)

Right, so I've got stock 18" rims with 35x12.5xR18s, and wished to upgrade my rims.

In doing so, I purchased 17" rims on accident, which the shop is telling me cannot take the 18" tires.

So I'm faced with purchasing new tires (315/70/17) or new rims. (And just try to sell the 17" rims I just bought)

Does the manufacturer of your new rims also make an 18” rim of the same design? If so, can you return the 17’s and swap for 18’s?

They do not, I got Method Racing wheels and these only come in 17 or 20.

My shop already test fitted one, which is when we realized I had the wrong size. So technically it's been 'mounted' so one rim is unreturnable

The. I think that you are down to simple math and aesthetics. Do the math, is it less expensive to return the 4 17-inch rims and buy new 17” that you like or is it cheaper to keep the new method rims and buy new 315’s.

there is no other solution

Oddly enough, it's a wash.. I've been looking for a new set of rims I like for 2 years and finally settled on one haha then this happens.

For $100 difference (more) the new tires may make sense, and then I'll just try to sell the other ones
