Just got the wife a 2022 Rubicon 4xe.

Having Metal Cloak 3.5" lift installed Monday.

Keeping stock wheels and mounting 37" BFG KO2s. C Load.

I thought I saw in another forum that I can use the stock spare tire carrier, and the light is adjustable... And if I lower PSI to like 15psi the tire will just fit

Can anyone tell me if this is true, and if so, what steps I might have

Thanks

I’d Rather Talk Jeep’s!
One thing to consider as well is your wheel dimensions (offset/backspacing) with your stock carrier. I have 35’s with more aggressive -19mm 10” wide wheels and it brought the tire out from the rubber tire stop. Everytime I shut the tailgate or went over bumps the whole thing would shake violently. After upgrading to an aftermarket fully adjustable carrier (I think Teraflex) it no longer shakes and is solid against the oem rubber tire stop.

Additionally, the new carrier relocates the brake light in the center of the wheel so it’s way easier for people to see the light.

I was able to use the stock carrier with a 37" tire on a 4.5" backspace wheel. The tires we had were about 1/2" taller than the K02s with actual measurements. I was able to adjust the brake light so it was just peeking over the tire. The K02s should be a little better for this.

That's about 108 pounds. That will not work. The stock carrier tailgate is rated to 85 pounds. Do you have the factory tailgate reinforcement? If so you can add this:

It is good to 100 pounds without tailgate reinforcement. I have the tailgate reinforcement from the factory and added this to get my 37" KO2 on the back. It is adjustable fore and aft so I have the tire tucked in closer to the tailgate than my wife's 35 on the stock carrier with factory reinforcement.

The 37" tire weighs 12.7lbs more on the stock rims.

I ordered a relocation bracket for now, looks like I might need the reinforced hinge

I’ve been running 37s on my stock carrier for several years. It’s fine. I haven’t heard anyone with issues. Hell I’m running 37s on my sport tire carrier as we speak with no relocation brackets. As long as you have the plastic bumper you won’t need the relocation bracket.

Is that a retro Jeep badge back there?

That's what I read, I knew I wasn't crazy. Did you go the tailgate reinforcement?

I'm running a 37" KM3 on the OEM spare tire mount on my wife's JLUR, with the Mopar tailgate reinforcement. I've got a Motobilt tire carrier on the way and will be selling the Mopar one once the new one gets here.

No. Nothing. With the C KO2 it’s not even close to needed.

Get the reinforced tire carrier. You will thank yourself later. But yes, our light is adjustable and it will fit.
