Well, count me among those who are having major issues with their new Wrangler.
I have a JLR with 48 miles on the odometer that had to be towed to the dealership today. It would start (sort of) but all sorts of warning lights illuminated (CEL, ESS disabled, tire pressure, etc) and idled so rough that it died every time unless you kept giving it gas. I'll post a video later with the problem. I took it on the fourth time I tried to start it (so that I wouldn't get a "technician cannot duplicated customer concern" response at the service department.

I called roadside assistance. Not really a great experience there either. However, a tow truck did arrive. I was towed to the dealer (who had no idea I was coming :headbang:) and they will get to it when they can over the next day or two. It's also a good thing I didn't need a loaner (none were available).

@JeepCares - any help?

Hi taysdad,

We are so sorry to hear this, as it is not the experience we want you to have as a new JL owner! Please send us a private message with your VIN, mileage, and dealer so that we investigate this further and create a case on your behalf.

Darlene,

I sent you a couple of PMs. Did you get them?
I still have not heard back from the servicing dealer. Every time I call, they tell me theyā€™ll call right back, but never do.

UPDATE- dealer finally called.
THE ENGINE HAD A CATASTOPHIC FAILURE AT 48 MILES. Bad cam at least but they expect they would find more once they tear it apart.

So, I drove the Jeep home from the dealer and then couldnā€™t even get one more trip on the vehicle before a catastrophic engine failure occurred. I canā€™t believe this vehicle PASSED QC. If this passes, what fails?

Iā€™ve asked to return the Jeep.

At this point, I just canā€™t imagine an outcome where I keep this vehicle. I am trying (for now) via JEEPCARES (the phone line not @JeepCares as they never responded to me) who told me to work with my selling dealer.

If something is not done in the next few days, the. Iā€™ll stop attempting to resolve on my own. For now, Iā€™ll see how the process plays out. Right now, color me unimpressed.

They should replace it. There is a user on here who got their Jeep replaced due to the steering lockup issue which now seems fixable from multiple posts.

I bet you there was something else wrong with the Jeep that wasnā€™t caught during the QC check that occurred when you drove it longer...something internal to the engine that wasnā€™t apparent during a quick 1minute idle at the factory or whatever they do there. Not sure as they seem to miss a lot of stuff.

Good luck.

Get a couple thousand followers/subscribers on your YouTube or Instagram then post your Jeep problems. I guarantee youā€™ll get a response from FCA!

Thanks. I am hoping for a fair resolution as well.

Jeep Cares is having to intervene again today because despite numerous roles (read 10 in 3 days) I have tried to reach out to my salesman (who is the sales manager as well, my calls/emails/texts are never returned. I have never seen an adult act so childish. I am actually glad in a way I havenā€™t talked to him because I can only imagine just how helpful he would be if this is how he handles problems.

My case is being escalated (today) so I am hopeful to hear something from someone soon.
Iā€™ll keep this thread updated with all exchanges.
Much appreciative of the moral support and good thoughts that have been sent my way. I actively try to be an optimistic person (not my natural tendency) but this experience has been testing my resolve to stay positive.

Hope you won't have to bother but just in case. Every State is different. In many States, Lemon Law depends on which State you actually purchased the vehicle, not where you live or title the car. I have owned quite a few cars and have had several cars that were bought back under Lemon law demands. It was pretty straight forward if you meet the requirements. It is very possible you would meet requirements because replacement parts are still probably in short supply. FCA knows this. In your case it's win-win if they buy-back under good will instead of forcing you to demand buy-back under Lemon Law. Not sure with FCA but surveys are important with a lot of brands. Dealer customer surveys and positive feedback usually have a direct correlation to how much a dealer is compensated by factory pay plans. Too bad your sales manager is not addressing your issue in a proper way. Reach out to the actual owner of the dealership if it's a family owned store or the general manager. I found they were helpful in my cases. They should help advocate for you with the regional Rep. Hopefully FCA will make you whole without Lemon Law. I can't imagine they would not to prevent any negative press. You will probably be required to sign a non-disclosure as terms of the buy-back so you might be limited to what you can post.

Here is a link to Ohio Lemon Law just in case you bought in OH.
