My tuning went south by using a local tuner to do a full delete on my diesel.
For the last 15K I have white smoke from DEF fluid and running a straight pipe
My advice is spend more and use a reputable tuning provider

And you may never be able to sell or trade it if you do a full delete:

The GDE tune is full emissions legal and if it accidentally gets overwritten at the dealer it's $50 to get it reflashed.

I agree, and you're being generous on the difficulty to sell/trade. I suspect that you would face a huge pushback from the buying public.
