Anyone wondering why one Jeep drives good with the new box and one doesn’t......this is the spec for the over center adjustment. Keep in mind every one of these boxes get the final adjustment by hand, there is a 4.5 in. Lb variation that is “acceptable” the box set at 1.3 probably still has quite a bit of dead spot, the box at 5.8 probably has close to none....

Mikester....WOW! I haven’t seen anything about this. Pretty eye opening, and helps shed light on why we see so many different driving box experiences. I will definitely save this in case I decide to adjust this myself. Per chance, where did u find this?

And FYI, here is the wiring schematic for the EHPS system. Power,Ground, Ignition, and power and ground from the CAN buss system. No inputs from any other sensors. Pressure is 100% adjusted by RPM and voltage and a few safeguards built in if the system loses input for RPM. No different than a belt driven pump.

Somebody that knows what they’re doing needs to do a YouTube video on how to adjust the steering box. Anything to help get rid of the dead spots in the steering wheel.

So I just went on YouTube and found that there is videos showing how to adjust the box. I guess I should’ve did my research first.

That’s kinda a enter at your own risk type of adjustment. The proper way is described in the doc I posted. It’s out of the Jeep, fluid is removed, and there are several measurements taken. Most people don’t do that. They back off the nut, tighten the screw and then tighten the nut while it is in the Jeep......world of difference in the process.

After getting mine home after replacing the box I went to check the torques...everything was under spec...the 4 box bolts and the sector shaft nut. Tightened the 4 bolts to 100ft/lbs and the sector shaft nut to 185ft/lbs. Now the dang thing is drifting left/driver.

Do the 4 bolts on the steering box have a sequence of torqueing?

No but they are actually torqued + 115* or something like that. 100ft lbs is pretty close to what they end up at

So does anyone know for sure if the 2021s are shipping with the new steering box?
