Really sucks that your having issues with your rig. No one wants to pay coin in a new rig only to have problems, it's the reason you go new and more then frustrating.I know. All minor things for sure, I’ll fore sure give the dealership a chance to make it right. It just really pisses me off that’s all.
I’ve been through the dealership thing before, it brings back bad memories... Chevy bought back my 2000 venture van because of the non stop dealership making it right attempts/lemon law.

Good post and agree. I've been mostly lucky with jeeps. I did have a 88 cherokee that was a lemon and I ditched it after a year of ownership.I've never had more warranty work than a Mercedes i bought my wife. And not loose air vents either, complete transmission replacement and many other serious mechanical issues. All vehicles have their problems. Not that it's an excuse for FCA. There are a lot of fan boys on here that would rather eat a crap sandwich than admit that their Jeep wasn't the best auto ever produced.
This is my 4th Jeep, so you could say I am inoculated from these small issues. I expect then because it says "Jeep" on the front. I expect loose air vents, I expect it to squeal when i start it. But if i wanted a different vehicle i would have bought it.
I wonder how many of the people doing the majority of the complaining are first time Jeep owners? Just a thought.

That right there is why I'm keeping this Jeep for a l l l o o o n n n g g g time! I did snag one of the lifetime warranties. While I knew the first time I drove this JLUR that I'd always have a Jeep in the stable, the (no-longer-available) lifetime warranty is what will keep THIS one in the garage until the wheels fall off (would that be covered under warranty??? LOL).Now that's SHORT and that tells you FCA knows their quality isn't stellar. They dropped the optional LT warranty....gee I wonder why?
Hi Ghuzz,Well, we were going to leave this morning for a Jeep trip up to Mingus mountain, but the right side passenger seat stuck full forward. Instead l drove it to the dealership,they said to bring it back Monday, the glove box is broken the air vents are loose the tranny shifts weird, it’s a piece of crap! The only good thing is it reminds me of why I started buying Toyota’s back in the 90’s, anyone interested in a good deal on a 18 JL 2 door less than 3k miles ?

- @Ghuzz, Aaron: you have every right to be frustrated. A new vehicle isn't like new dental braces. The idea that a follow up appointment 1 week after purchase to tweak things should not be par for the course. Sure there are no flawless assembly lines, but there are better ones, and better quality assurance to address where those better assembly processes fall short.
- I think it more accurate to say that "Your" JL has problems, than "New JL is a POS." I strongly suspect that the word "my" JL was implied by you, but people get defensive and see it directed at all JLs. I think the degree of problems you had was unacceptable, but on the continuum of Rolls Royce on the one hand (which someone no doubt has an anecdote about failure on) and this:
that POS is tough talk--even if it's your frustration talking--which I get and you're entitled to. Infuriating though they are, I've waited on my share of recalls across many makes of vehicle--a common theme expressed above.
- Also as said, with this crap past you, I think you'll look back on all the happy memories you make in this vehicle and realize the initial problems were just a blip in the radar.
- Many hard working dedicated assembly line workers, who can't be blamed for these issues often take the rap. Then again, the $ you earned from your hard work is of no less value.

I’m going to give them a chance to make it right for sure...We should probably all remember that ever since the auto manufacturers have gotten on the "Cell Phone" model of release stuff every couple of years - the consumers have basically become the testers - just look at the piles of recalls on all brands - Jaguar / Landrover just got docked huge this last year for terrible IQR scores - in any case - I am sorry to hear you are having multiple issues and I really hope the dealership takes good care of you!

We are also toyota people and it's pretty obvious their build quality is superior to FCA throughout the years, but they do have their problems too. Our 4 runner had key issues in the doors and ignition. Wife was stuck at a grocery store once. Ask the Land Cruiser guys about their head gasket issues on the series 80. I was looking hard at used ones prior to going new JLUR.
If Japan built something as capable (and FUN) as a jeep rubicon it would be very hard for me not to go that route. Probably the same with you. But they dont and both you and I knew FCA wasnt toyota quality and rolled the dice. You came up snake eyes on a few very minor albeit frustrating problems. If it happens with toyota's on occassion for sure it will happen with FCA.
I did some homework on the jeep prior to buying one. A lot was not good at all. A lot was good. The motor had issues in the beginning and jeep stood behind it, now it's rock solid and most most accounts an animal for durability. And how bout that auto tranny, rated one of the best.
Still I do worry about other stuff on the jeep, but it's way back in my mind since no other vehicle I have driven has been this much fun. If something goes wrong I will bitch louder then you since it does suck, but know that soon it will just be a memory mixed in with better memorys.
Get the jeep fixed and go have fun.

People didn’t buy Toyota because they were so great it was because Detroit junk was so bad.Yeah, let's talk about Toyota. About how in the 80s their trucks were literally rusted when they unloaded them off the ship from Japan, and if you wanted bumpers you had to pay extra, and the 22R engine had the same power as the Briggs&Stratton on an American Craftsman lawn mower. Or about how in the 90s their trucks had frames that were literally folding in half like a lawn chair and the suspension on the Camry would fail in 20,000 miles and the car would bounce like a po-go stick down the highway. Or about how in the 00s they started buying back trucks from consumers in a massive publicized recall campaign, and the new Tundra was breaking crankshafts and rear ends from normal use, and the plastic beds on the Tacomas were cracking under normal use, and the head gaskets on the 4.0L V6 were blowing out just beyond warranty expiration, and the exhaust manifolds on the 4.7L V8 cracked and fell apart before 100,000 miles, and the company as a whole was leading the world in vehicle recalls because they are over-hyped junk.
Sorry, it just gets me triggered when another lemming posts something about Toyota. Toyota's PR department would have made Jim Jones jealous.

Good logic but the reality is there are zillions of jeeps on the trail and they arent breaking down at a level that is even close to concerning. I reread your original post about your tranny. That is truly an outlier when you read about the tranny they use.
