First, does car play only work when you plug into the media outlet on the radio console? When I tried to plug into the armrest plug nothing happened.

Second, is there a way to make the lane turn blinker signal more than 3 blinks?

I have never tried the armrest usb for CarPlay, will have to check it out.

I also would like to increase the turn signal to more than 3 but never found anywhere to do it. Would a tazer do it???

From Jeep cares on another thread

ā€œDue to a specification change by Apple, CarPlay was no longer able to be used from the center console or rear USB ports on any vehicle with IR22.5 or higher software application levelā€

apparently it is an issue. Later in the thread it seems that supposedly ā€˜21+ jeeps itā€™s not an issue, but the thread was full of 21+ owners still having the issue.

looks like the dash is the way to go for now

Thanks. Mine is a 2022, so it definitely is an issue. It's pretty annoying since an iPhone 13 Pro Max fits in none of the console areas and I have to relegate it to a cupholder upside down.

Look at 67 Designs phone holders. I have the rail system and itā€™s great for holding my phone.

I agree itā€™s annoying. I personally like leaving the phone in the armrest console plugged in so I can charge it and listen to music. That way it is out of the way and not a distraction.

in my ā€˜18 it wasnā€™t an issue, but I sold it and ordered a ā€˜23ā€¦I hope itā€™s not an issue with my new one

The Tazer will let you enable and disable "One Touch lane change," but I don't believe you can adjust the count.

I can tell you in my 2022 it definitely still is an issue. Damn.

Are you putting the turn signal completely on? If you push on the stalk, it will blink three times but if you "click" the stalk into position it will continue to blink until you turn and straighten the wheel or manually move the stalk back. At least that is what happens on my 21.

Not having any issues here with my 2022 using the arm rest outlet works every time so far, my 2018 was hit or miss and it ended up using the console USB connection for CarPlay....

You can also play music via Bluetooth. On your phone select Settings/Bluetooth/turn on/ and look for your Jeeps UConnect. On radio, select Media/Bluetooth.

I want to use Apple CarPlay. Seems ridiculous jeep didnā€™t think to allow it from other ports (or frankly wirelessly).

Plugging my phone in the center console doesnā€™t work, but a CarPlay wireless adapter does work for me from that port just fine.

I believe that is a feature of uConnect5.... which has not yet come to the wranglers, but has come to some of the other jeep models. (ie Grand Cherokee)
