Happy Tuesday Jeep Peeps.

I hope the first day back to work wasnt too bad after a three day weekend.

The good news, I didnt find any local headlines that someone blew off an appendage or a structural fire due to fireworks last night. LOL

The last "pop" heard went at around midnight.

I did some landscaping before the supposedly rain tonight. I'm convinced the local weather people use a magic 8 ball. LOL

The only thing I did today Jeep related was add the "Retired Blue Line" license trim piece from my sold motorhome to my Jeep.

It is very likely I will be going to Rausch Creek on the 16th. Please let me know in advance if you plan to join us. We're looking at about 4 Jeeps, not including @DonBucket 's group.

Harder blues and blacks. FYI. There is a 2002 2 door TJ on 35s and CJ with 35s that we run with. Your Rubi should be fine. Be at RC between 7:30 and 7:45. The park opens at 8am. Steve mentioned his group would like to start early on Saturday.

Most of the guys have GMRS. I finally took out the CB. I bought a pair of FRS walkies talkies that has 22 channels and can communicate with the GMRS folks. They sell them on Amz or Wlmrt.

I need to switch over or run both. I still have my Cobra 29 LTD Classic wired in. Handhelds look like a great option.

I'm thinking this is the way to go too; my son and I don't go wheeling enough to really justify hardwired and mounted radios with an antenna. We used similar ones when we took the 101 Course...there were probably 12 Jeeps out with us and everyone could clearly hear from the front of the line to the end. That's great that the FRS shares channels with GMRS.

Midland seems to be the go to.
The handhelds vary from $40-$100. I bought mine from BestBuy when they were on sale. They work great, but heavy radio chatter causes the battery to drain quicker. I carry the charging cable with me and usually lend out the other. I'll probably wait on a good deal on a hard wire one as they can be upwards of $300 when you factor in the bracket, antennae and wire.

Happy Thursday Jeep Peeps!

My tie rod end was delivered today. I swapped it out and packaged the bent one for return.

I guess the only thing that I am waiting for now is the New Venture front Diff Skid. There is nothing I can do anymore to my Jeep. I dont plan on running anything bigger than my 37s.

It looks like we'll have a good group next Saturday.
