It is true, but they put the optioned engine plastic on top to keep it on the down low because it isn't street legal in 23 states.

I owned both, 2014 Sahara softtop in black and my current 2019 Sport S in white. As long as you don't mind the endless cleaning of a black Jeep you can't go wrong with either. Black is incredible when clean and waxed! Only downside is the spring brings pollen all over your Jeep and rainy times brings the dirt spatter. I vote for white as It keeps my slightly OCD side happier.

I like white on a Willys. I like the contrast of white and black accents.

Sarge green is also pretty dark, will show dirt as well. I think your best options if you plan to not wash your car are white, sting grey or billet.

I love my Black Silverado when she's clean but cringe every time I look at the front bumper and grille area. Black and dark colors in general show all of the defects such as paint chips and scratches. A white vehicle has those same scratches but they're less noticeable.

I’m biased. I wanted Sarge or Sting Grey. Then I saw this Willys in white and I really like the black contrast against the white.

For those who don’t know. Willys, pronounced Willis, was the first company to produce the Jeep for sale to the public. The name of the company at the time was Willys Overland. FCA still uses the Willys name on Wranglers and the Overland name on Grand Cherokees. That way the trademark is retained.

Some pronounce the name like Willie’s, which is okay too. Even some early commercials that I’ve watched on you tube use both pronunciations.
