Probably. But it is true! That was probably not appropriate for this site...
Been looking to buy a JLU at some point and although the current virus crisis really had nothing to do with my decision, I was spurred into action when the sales price of a few of my flagged vehicles on dealer websites suddenly starting dropping like rocks this past week. Just concluded negotiations with a small-town dealer in CA (link below) for a new 2019 Wrangler MOAB with an MSRP just under $53,300 (total with freight; invoice around $50,100 according to this Forum). The vehicle was discounted over $10,000 ($5700+ from FCA as part of its âEmployee Pricing for Allâ and âCustomer Retail Cashâ and $4300 from the dealer), others on the lot are discounted over $12k, plus, if you have one, they will honor the â$500 Bonus Cash Allowanceâ coupon FCA sent us earlier this month (valid until 04/30/20). My out-the-door price (with fees under $100, but without tax, title, & registration) is right around $42,800. If my math is correct, that puts it just shy of 20% off MSRP and around 14.5% below invoice. Donât know anything about financing, because Iâm not.
As noted by others, 2020 Wranglers are also lower priced this past week than previous. The factories are idle, but the lots still appear full. The anomaly here is that it could be a few months or more before Toledo is up and churning out JLs & JTs again, so it is conceivable there could be shortages at some point of certain popular Wrangler models and I also suspect the remaining 2019âs will go quickly. As such, hard to say how long the current discounts will last or what these unusual sale prices will do to the traditionally high resale value of Wranglers, but time will tell. FWIW, I tired to buy a similar MOAB from a Pennsylvania dealer, but he advised he has heen closed by the state and could not even take a deposit from me.
Be safe, stay healthy...

In normal times, I would already be on a plane out to get it; but Iâm having this one shipped. Below is what I bought and then what I hope to do (thanks âBri01â for pic). Will be selling all five MOAB wheels and tires intact and likely rock rails; havenât decided on bumpers. 37 miles on odometer.
