Hey guys. I'm a first time poster. This weekend I traded my 2014 JKU for a 2018 JLU 2.0L and I've noticed smoke coming from the engine. It smells like either something electrical is burning or maybe like plastic is burning. It only has 130 miles on it. I've embedded a video of it. I noticed it today and should've taken a video then but didn't. I took this one after driving about 4 miles to a friends. Any help or explanation would be appreciated. I just bought on Saturday (1/5/19) afternoon and not sure whether to freak out or not. Thanks!

Hmm...mine doesnā€™t do that. The only time I get smoke is steam from going though water. Iā€™d get it checked out.

It's definitely frustrating. I bought it about an hour from where I live and have only driven it four times. I wonder if it's safe to drive it an hour away to the dealer.

I wouldn't drive to the dealer an hour away. I would contact the Service Manager and send the video and let them make the call. You don't want to risk engine damage en-route to the dealer. While I'm not a mechanic, I would surmise that is not normal. Sorry for your issue on the new ride.

I planned on calling as soon as they opened in the morning. Hopefully I can get it resolved quickly. Thanks.

Yeah, that is frustrating. I wouldnā€™t drive it an hour away. Like VictorChampion said...send video. If not maybe your local dealer.

It looks like the turbocharger is leaking exhaust. Get it fixed under the warranty.

I had a buddy of mine who is mechanically savvy and he said that the oil feed line from the turbo is leaking. I'm having dealer come pick it up to prevent any kind of further damage. Still waiting on a call saying they are on their way.Not a good start for a brand new Jeep.

Hopefully an easy fix if its just the oil line.

I hope so too. I finally got a call and they'll be at my office to pick it up soon. Wish me luck!
I need to see you out on the trails! Good luck with the fix.

So dealer said it needs an o-ring replaced on the lines coming from the turbo. There are 2 and can't really tell which one is the issue so they are going to replace both of them. However, one of the o-rings are on back order. So it could be a while, many days even, before I get it back. I can't seem to find the words to express my frustration.

It's always the $1 part that's on back order. When I took mine in for the rear washer hose fix they had to order the part.

We're sorry to hear this, landon2455. If you can PM us with your VIN and the dealer name/location, we can look into your part order and see how we may be able to assist.
