I guess since I don’t have gorilla glass me and my wife should probably go get some full face helmets so we don’t get impaled by an object in the event of an accident. I’m guessing those of you that truly believe this crap also wear your face mask while driving alone in your car so you don’t get Covid from the car in front of you. You know just incase kinda thing.

I am a sample of ONE.

I needed to replace 3 windshields within 2 years on my ’19 without Gorilla Glass. I made it to over 2 years with my 2022 with Gorilla Glass.

The 3 regular glass windshields probably cost close to the same as ONE Gorilla Glass windshield.

I only got Gorilla Glass because it was only a few hundred bucks as an option. I noticed prices for the Gorilla Glass option started going up after I got it. I would not order it if I was given a choice. today. It sucks Jeep is installing them on most new Wranglers now.

You seem to give Gorilla Glass a positive review other than their cost, then say it sucks that Jeep is installing them on most new Wranglers?

you are lucky. 1st Gorilla glass lasted 10 months and I was lucky to get it replaced under warranty. Replacement lasted 6 months and cracked top to bottom on passenger side but I didn't do anything about it and then 6 months later hit on driver side and it was toast. Even though I didn't ask Progressive/Safelite replaced windshield number 2 with Gorilla Glass, lets see how long this one last. So far it has lasted 6 days.

If you order anything other than a Sport you get gorilla glass. Doesn’t matter what you believe. Not sure how a face mask is relevant. Considering this thread is about a ‘24 Wrangler, OP didn’t have a choice.

I thought the thread was about gorilla glass being stupid $$$. If you notice I didn’t call out OP for his decision so not sure what you’re getting at there so no need to defend him. I was calling out those that purchased the gorilla glass thinking it would provide them protection. Sorry if that’s you. Look up the definition of an analogy if you didn’t get the face mask comment.

If you read the context the extreme cost seems to be related to the antenna being embedded in the glass on 2024s.

A face mask is irrelevant to the discussion. Look up the definition of relevance, you’ll understand…maybe.

Same, it is the same as my standard deductible to replace the windshield under USAA
uhhh, usaa glass coverage is state dependent. I Have it in Az, no cost, no deductible free glass, Texas they have no coverage. Year of driving in Texas, all over, zero hits. Year in Az, three big hits, only replaced it once though, i take the cracks as a badge of honor, don't mess with me car jacker, i have broken glass!!

You all saying gorilla glass is standard, is that 23 or 24 and newer. Mine is sitting at dealer with full span crack caused by a morning it was 5 degrees, cracked all by itself 2 months after driving off showroom lot. I am wondering if it is gorilla, i can see anything different about it than what I have seen before..

Happy for you, I don’t get that benefit through USAA as I don’t live in those states.

So my new 2024 Rubicon had it's windshield busted during the 5 mile PDI test drive by the tech. Apparently a vehicle that was on the freeway threw a rock onto the frontage road where the test drive was. (totally legit as the freeway runs along side) any way when I got there the manager told me my new jeep had a chip in the window but they would take care of it and arrange for it to be replaced in my home town (I live 2 hours from the dealership) any way we go out to see the jeep and the crack is completely across the windshield as it was a frosty morning and the salesman had turned on the defrost to clear the frost off the windshield. Jeep had 7 miles on it. It had literally rolled off the truck the prior day. I am sure if they would have repaired the chip before turning on the defroster it would have not cracked.

Manager told me to take it to my local windshield shop and send him a copy of the estimate....holy cowabunga

Get windshield insurance with your insurance company. My windshield broke from a rock after 3 years of ownership and safelite replaced and I paid $50 deductible and I asked for gorilla glass and they installed it.
